ReMake
Dedicated to @Woodsy I didn't set out to create textures of any specific trees. All variants were created after reading various tutorials*. Required Plugins: PointWarp by @toe_head2001SinWaves by @MadJikTGAngle by @Red ochre Note: Read first How to install Plugins. Variant 1 Spoiler 1. Open a new () image and resize () it to 450x600 px. Set the primary color to 7F0000 and the secondary color to 7F3300. 2. Apply the Clouds () effect (Effects -> Render -> Clouds) with Scale 35 and Roughness 0,25. 3. Apply the TG Angle effect (Effects -> Stylize -> TG Angle) with Light angle 180, Rake 0,90, Colouring 0,80 and AAsmoothing 4. 4. Apply the Add Noise () effect (Effects -> Noise -> Add Noise) with Intensity 40, Color Saturation 0 and Coverage 50. 5. Apply the Surface Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Surface Blur) with Radius 100 and Threshold 10. 6. Apply the Relief () effect (Effects -> Stylize -> Relief) with Angle 135. 7. Select All (Ctrl+A). Select the Move Selected Pixels () tool and stretch the image vertically by 90-100 pixels. 8. Apply the Gaussian Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Gaussian Blur) with Radius 1 and we got a texture that mimics the bark of a tree. Variant 2 Spoiler 1. Open a new () image and resize () it to 600x450 px. Set the primary color to 783200 and the secondary color to BE784B. 2. Apply the Clouds () effect (Effects -> Render -> Clouds) with Scale 1000 and Roughness 0,25. 3. Apply the Add Noise () effect (Effects -> Noise -> Add Noise) with Intensity 45, Color Saturation 0 and Coverage 100. 4. Apply the Motion Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Motion Blur) with Angle 90, Distance 45. The Centered checkbox should be checked. 5. Apply the Gaussian Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Gaussian Blur) with Radius 1. 6. Apply the Relief () effect (Effects -> Stylize -> Relief) with default setting. 7. Apply the Sharpen () effect (Effects -> Photo -> Sharpen) with Amount 20. Repeat (Ctrl+F) the effect if necessary. We got a simple imitation of the wood texture. Variant 3 Spoiler 1. Open a new () image and resize () it to 600x450 px. Set the primary color to E6AF88 and the secondary color to E6C3AF. 2. Apply the Clouds () effect (Effects -> Render -> Clouds) with Scale 500 and Roughness 0,15. 3. Apply the Add Noise () effect (Effects -> Noise -> Add Noise) with Intensity 55, Color Saturation 0 and Coverage 50. 4. Apply the Motion Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Motion Blur) with Angle 90, Distance 60. The Centered checkbox should be checked. 5. Apply the Sharpen () effect (Effects -> Photo -> Sharpen) with Amount 20. Repeat (Ctrl+F) the effect. 6. Apply the Twist () effect (Effects -> Distort -> Twist) with Amount / Direction 8, Size 0,75 and Quality 5. We got another simple imitation of the wood texture. Variant 4 Spoiler 1. Open a new () image and resize () it to 600x450 px. Set the primary color to C8AF5F and the secondary color to 9B7337. Fill () the image with primary color. 2. Add a new () layer. Swap the colors (). Using the Brush () tool with a brush width from 55 to 25, draw five vertical indirect lines, as in the image below. 3. Apply the Sin Waves effect (Effects -> Distort -> Sin Waves) with Amplitude 350, Horizontal period 1,02, Vertical period 0, Angle of start 135. Uncheck Activate Anti-alias. 4. Go to Layer Properties () and set the blend mode to Multiply and opacity to 128. Merge both layers (). 5. Apply the Add Noise () effect (Effects -> Noise -> Add Noise) with Intensity 50, Color Saturation 0 and Coverage 100. 6. Apply the Gaussian Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Gaussian Blur) with Radius 1. 7. Apply the Motion Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Motion Blur) with Angle 0, Distance 35. The Centered checkbox should be checked. 8. Apply the Dents () effect (Effects -> Photo -> Sharpen) with Scale 200, Refraction 1,25, Roughness 12, Tension 12 and Quality 5. 9. Select All (Ctrl+A). Select the Move Selected Pixels () tool and stretch the image slightly to the left and we got a texture similar to that of pine. Variant 5 Spoiler 1. Open a new () image and resize () it to 600x450 px. 2. Apply the Add Noise () effect (Effects -> Noise -> Add Noise) with Intensity 100, Color Saturation 0 and Coverage 100. lynxster4
Thank you @ReMake! Nice variants of the wood texture. I, also, have to say 'Bravo'. We need to revisit the idea you had to create a subforum for all textures, etc... I can't find the original post where I attached a pic.. 🤗 1 Quote My Art Gallery | My Shape Packs | ShapeMaker Mini Tut | Air Bubble Stained Glass Chrome Text with Reflections | Porcelain Text w/ Variegated Coloring | Realistic Knit PatternOpalescent Stained Glass | Frosted Snowman Cookie | Leather Texture | Plastic Text | Silk Embroidery Visit my Personal Website "Never, ever lose your sense of humor - you'll live longer"
TrevorOutlaw
Man, this make me miss Welshblue as he was one of the masters when it comes to wood texture. Woodsy was awesome in his old west motif as evident by his awesome gallery. Also, this awesome nugget in variant 6, "...and we will get a texture with an imitation of a bitch." 🤣 Edited May 31 by TrevorOutlaw 1 1 Quote Paint.NET Gallery | Remove Foreground Object Tutorial | Dispersion Effect Tutorial ”An artist should never be a prisoner of himself, prisoner of style, prisoner of reputation, prisoner of success.” ~ Henri Matisee
