FurBlur - Update 30th July 2014

Recommended Posts

Looks like you have created another cracker of a plug-in Red. You have everyone going crazy with it and creating amazing results.

No one has to be bald or have rough floorboards anymore.

Excellent! Cheers for the share. Off to play.

Thanks to @WB I just discovered this new plug-in of yours.  How clever are you?  Just now PDN will crash with all of these amazing P-I'ings that you create.  I was so tempted to use it on an animal, but resisted  .

Daniels - please do - I find simply 'playing' with plugins the best way to learn and discover new techniques.

EER - I should nominate that to the Galeria (but there could be copyright issues) - it does make me chuckle!

YM - stunning! - great use of the plugin and the image itself is a pleasure - great colours & textures!

Dug - looking forward to seeing what surreal uses you find for it.

Pixey - That looks great! - original use of Furblur for the icicles. 'Clever' - I wish! (Null54 is the clever one for getting it working).

Helen - you can hug me anytime! - looking forward to seeing your results - perhaps some candyfloss trees for your candy house?

Good to see what you're all creating. :)

A combination of Welshy's tute and your Furblur, which is so cool

And Pixey - I think I used to have a 'candlewick' bedspread with that texture - (all duvets these days) - thanks for posting.

Glad you like changes!

Pdnnoob, BBQ & yellowman - thanks
Seerose - Danke! <3

yellowman - It now tests if the start pixel is above the transparency threshold before doing most of the calculations.
This makes it much faster for object layers. It may also be slightly faster for whole layers due to tidying up the code too. It is actually doing a few more calculations to deal with transparency now.
Plus, I probably rushed the first version a bit, due to forum interest and I was excited about it too! :)

I think you were right to be excited by it - it gives such great/interesting/ varied results

I stopped using it on large canvases but I must say I'm impressed with the speed it renders now.  It could be the plug-in of the year with all the extra options

WB, NN, Helen & Dug - Thanks for the comments, glad you are having fun with it! :)

Both Furblur and Clipwarp would not exist if Null54 hadn't showed me how to set them up correctly in Visual Studio. The help is very appreciated!

Sasha - Pleased the extra speed helps!

Dug - Great image - no one else would put the 'daddy-long-legs' (crane fly) on the water lilly! - the circle of life - love it! and the furblur results look good. Good composition too.

doughty - kudzu - I had to look that up - glad you're exploring possible textures.
