Yes, you can play with the sliders!  :)

What's the point then of using Random Effect then? If you can keep clicking until you find a Effect you like, and if you can change the Sliders (and other controls), then it's not so random anymore.

(September 25th, 2023)  Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue.

I see no reason why you should change it. The original image is intact. ?

I was going to post about not moving the sliders too.  I've never used this particular Plugin before, but found that the 'sliders' were never at their default positions, so assumed the sliders were being manipulated by the Plugin itself.  Many thanks for clearing this up :)

Can you duplicate the image and use a Blend Mode ?  Add another layer to use a colour ?

I am going to say 'no'. You're adding enhancements to the image, unlike doughty, who simply flipped her image and placed a one-pixel border around it.

Yes, we needed some clarifications but you're making this too hard...think 'SIMPLE'.  :P

So I can add a border as long as it's on the original layer ?

Yes, but it doesn't have to be on the original layer.  What if you need to make a change to your border?

'Cause technically even a 1px border is an enhancement of sorts ?

I like to think of a border as 'showcasing' the work.  You're not changing the original image.  ?

if using non plugin Blurs (Gaussian and Motion) and a Blend Mode on my third image don't meet the criteria please omit it

I'm not going to allow your third image.  We established 'no alterations' of any kind except a small border.

Sorry, welshy.   :)

This weeks SOTW - Mondrian style, has already been done

Yes, it has, but it's been over five years since.  I looked at the entries from back then and most did the white, red and blue blocks.

The style can be expanded and I was hoping for some more 'original' pieces.

Reference @Pixey 's entry.  I think it's great and very original, but still conforms to the style.  ?

@Seerose   your entry looks okay.  I've found a few examples of triangles being used for this style.  :)

Thanks for that @welshblue   I'm not pulling your entries because I should have caught it.

I did have 2 weeks to realize your entries were a little too big.

I will be more diligent next time.

SOTW#194 Christian Symbolism ? When did religion enter a competition? I am  Shinto faith and would never think of using my (or anyone's) faith as a topic for a  competition, would Islam or Judaism be accepted as comp themes ? I think not!  I don't really care what the host or the person who thought of the topic thinks, Symbolism of any kind is religion

This comp is now seriously running out of ideas and to use religion as a topic is really low.

I would agree. Many people consider their religious symbols sacred, and may find the improper use of them very disrespectful.

My two cents.

What dictionary are you using? Or how'd you arrive at that conclusion?

It seems to me that there are many symbols with no religious association.

Is the clue not in the wording ? Christian IS a religion.

I've got to disagree. I think symbolism is an appropriate topic (though I personally wouldn't have confined the topic by adding "Christian").

If a religious symbol is treated with respect, and especially if it has meaning to the author, then what is wrong with using this as a competition theme? I for one would like to see some of the symbols used by religions unknown to me. I'd be interested in Shinto symbols for example.

Uh. No it isn't. ) < that's a symbol - no one worships that.

The theme of this week's comp has been changed to 'Religious Symbolism'.

This way everyone can participate if they choose.

I saw the topic as a celebration of one's beliefs, not a desecration.

I'm sorry if anyone was offended.
