TrueblueKiwi
Hi I'm after a plugin that allows a shadow to be added to text - can anyone suggest the best and easiest one please? Thanks
TrevorOutlaw
I like the one by KrisVDM and it's part of his plug-in pack. 1 Quote Paint.NET Gallery | Remove Foreground Object Tutorial | Dispersion Effect Tutorial

IHaveNoName
Yep, Drop Shadow, Object Shadow and Inner Shadow are all good. You can get some potentially useful shadow like effects from Object Bevel too. I also like using the crudest 'solution' too if I want crisp shadows. I just copy the text to a new lower layer, convert it to b/w and raise the contrast to get solid black and simply offset that as required. Just to be clear that does, of course, mean a new layer with a transparent background. Edited June 24, 2019 by IHaveNoName

The easiest way I know to make something black is to use Hue/Saturation and set the Lightness all the way to the left (-100). Setting the control all the way to the right makes it white. Ego Eram Reputo
@TrueblueKiwi - Gidday & welcome to the forum Remember, you need to put your text on it's own transparent layer for these shadowing plugins to work. If you put your text on a layer with other elements (like a solid background) the plugin will not be able to find the edges of the letters Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
