Red ochre
I'm working on another plugin and getting good results but can't make it do exactly what I want yet. Here are some examples of what it can do when run repeatedly... not artistic in the normal sense but I find it interesting, probably self indulgent. http://i.imgur.com/ZjMN0IM.png http://i.imgur.com/zNvGuZY.png http://i.imgur.com/TRZPY7N.png http://i.imgur.com/LhM6tfQ.png http://i.imgur.com/xatV83c.png http://i.imgur.com/0X31LkQ.png 8 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Eli
Do I see some offset tiling? I will be patient and wait for a first release. When I look at the first two images and use the "crossed eyes technique" I have the impression of been looking at 3D stereograms except that there is no hidden image .
Red ochre
Not too much longer to wait Eli. If I can't solve the last problem, I'll P.M. you a beta version. I have the impression of been looking at 3D stereograms - I really should revisit E.E.R's tutorial, this type of image could probably be used as backgrounds. Thanks for the feedback. Ego Eram Reputo
Look very interesting Red! Quite hypnotic. - I really should revisit E.E.R's tutorial, this type of image could probably be used as backgrounds. On that particular image the phase* is a little too large to make a good stereogram background. On an 800px wide stereogram I usually use vertical strip around 128px wide. * phase = the period or frequency in which the pattern repeats. Red ochre
'Dipstick' asked if I would upload the time-lapse animation I recently mentioned. So here it is.The title of the painting 'Broke Painter' refers both to the rope in the water and my bank balance!Relevance to Pdn?I used Pdn both to play around with ideas for the composition before starting and to edit the stills of work in progress. These were taken from different angles (and differing light conditions and reflections from the paint) and I used TR's 'Distort this' to correct the images back to a square.I also used Midora's 'Zip Archive' plugin to export the Pdn file layers before importing them to Windows Movie maker.(Animated .Gifs compress the colours too much for this use). 6 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Red ochre
Thanks Maximilian, Lynxster4 and Pixey! @ Maximilian - That plugin is nearly ready to publish. However, MJW, who has helped loads, has suggested some improvements but I just haven't had time to implement them yet.@ Pixey - yes, I just took photos of the painting as it progressed - every few hours or so.As you know, that style of oil painting is like Pdn in that it uses layers. Basic areas of tone first then gradually add detail and adjust colours.Unlike Pdn, you can't seperate the layers afterwards... unless you get the 'fat over lean' rule wrong, then the paint surface cracks and flakes off with time! 1 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Maximilian
I got to see the pics in the notification mail I got I'll assume they've been done with the Dryad plugin... and I also wanted to say something by way of making a first post since the forum software update (I'm beginning to test things out)
Red ochre
Thank you E.E.R. - brilliant Admin magic! - that's saved me from a huge amount of frustration. Hi Maximilian, I guess we're all finding our feet with new forum software. Yes they were a couple of Dryad experiments I was using to test out thumb-nail links (unsuccessfully). E.E.R has kindly restored the links on page one and I'm sure there will be a way around for creating future ones.
