It's kinda yellow and bright. A bit to bright IMO.

I'd engrave the text (displacement) into the wood like texture, and if you were going for a wood texture, i'd use more brownish colours.

It's good for a first. but you need to make so that the first thing we look at is the render. To do that, you could make a large white to black circular gradient around him on color burn at low opacity.
