HELEN
I remember looking at this last night and I said to myself, "Wow." My jaw was literally open. Impeccable spacescape! It so deserves to be in the Galleria! Drydareelin
Looks really good man! The asteroid belt separates the planets quite nicely and I do like the light rays coming from the left; they're something I struggle with. Daniels
I'm always impressed with your spacescapes, Bonz. I swear I'm looking through a telescope at real planets! skullbonz
Thank you very much Helen, Drydareelin and Daniels. The space images have so many steps that are always different that it would be very hard to write a tutorial on them. I never use the same steps to make the planets also, each one is it's own animal, lol. Even though I keep most of them as a pdn file I try to never use any of them to make another one so that they all will be different. I have asked myself why I bother to save them as a pdn and the answer keeps coming up, because I have the space, lol. I also might find something that could change the whole look someday so I guess it's not a wasted effort. I love space images which is what I set out to make primarily in the beginning many moons ago,I think I am finally getting there but strive to make them more awesome each time. Now I added another Dark Space and an Abstract. When making the space pictures I have to take a break sometimes and make something different to clear my head and come up with a new idea. The Abstract I just added is one of those. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-march-24th-dark-space-and-abstract/ Edited March 25, 2014 by skullbonz 1 Quote http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery
nitenurse79
I truly admire anyone who can pull off both space and abstracts, you manage to do both so very well Skullbonz. Very nice new works, a joy to view
HELEN
I was right. You came up with another fantastic piece! Such vibrant colors in the abstract and the lovely light coming from the middle. Nice! skullbonz
Thank you Nitenurse and Helen. I can't work on the same type of images all the time because the creativity fades to almost none and I feel like i am in a rut so I switch around which gives me more ideas to use when I go back to them. It also helps to save as a pdn file one day and come back another day with a fresh perspective before merging all the layers. I just added my first attempt at making a plane in PDN and just threw in a background to see how it would look. Now to perfect it for the next one. HELEN
A superb plane and a futuristic one at that! By the way, I think I was seven when I saw a dream on how to make a model airplane from scratch made completely from wood (I knew that it would later be made into an actual airplane). I even saw diagrams and sketches of it. It was so amazing. skullbonz
Thank you Helen. Planes are one of my hobbies, they are amazing. Big planes mystify me that something that big can fly, lol. I fly a virtual plane in a game at the place in my sig. The game started in 95, I joined in 98, we have kept the game alive this long and hope to go a lot longer. Right now we are getting a new server so we are down for a little while but when it comes back it will be upgraded in graphics and such. The plane I tried to make is kind of like the ones we fly in there, WW2 planes and dogfighting. I've been into space images lately so I added a couple more. This image is made using PDN and Terragen so I didn't want to add it to my gallery but I'll show it here. I used Terragen to make the top half of the background and took it into PDN where I added a picture of ground I took with my camera for the bottom half. The skeleton and skull are stocks and trimmed up a bit. The fence, wires and shadows are all PDN . Link to my gallery under my sig. skullbonz
Thank you Daniels, Johnysdream ,yellowman and Helen. I have found some cool ways to make the space images with some of the new and old plugins which is holding me back from upgrading to version 4. Some of them I already know by users posts won't work in version 4 so it would be back to the old drawing board so to speak. I'm working on a few new space images using fractal textures seeing as there is no plugin for fractals that are adjustable for pdn. It's slow going with many failures but I just had an idea to maybe make them work. We'll see in the future. The image with terragen was just a playing around using different programs together. Glad you like it. I seem to be in a kind of dark place these days with the newer space images, must be that last trip to the doctors. I added another dark space on the top that looked pretty cool so I stopped before I made it something different or brighter, lol. skullbonz
Thank you Daniels and Barbie, the newer space images take more time and layers to make but are worth it in the end. I find that using blending modes with multiple layers works real good and brings amazing results. Many times I set out to get a special look and it ends up a different look that I like even more, lol. So I have to admit that some are accidents. Working on a railroad image but I can see it is going to take many layers and a lot of time, hope to post something soon.
