Woodwalker
You can do almost everything with Paint.net! But can you make a dragon-like skin as well? If that’s possible; please, make a tutorial how you do that. It’d be very nice.
Woodsy
Hi @Woodwalker! Have you tried any of the Texture tutorials? I didn't see anything that looked like Dragon Scales but you might try these two for Dragon skin. 1 Quote My PDN Gallery
Woodwalker
@Woodsy Leather looks nice. But I imagine dragon skin more like a lizard or fish skin. You know!
Woodwalker
@welshblue Yeah! But I don't like to use stockphotos. I wanna do it by myself.

And there was me thinking dragons were as elusive as a straight answer in this thread You called? In all seriousness, for the dragon in my sig I used a scale texture brush in Brush Factory, then played around with @MJW's height map plugins until I got something akin to what I wanted. However, this didn't result in quite as much scale detail as OP seems to need.

Woodwalker
@HyReZ That’s what I’m looking for. But how do I make it lookiing realistic? You know. Putting a leather texture above it and doing a nice smoothy shadow.
Woodwalker
@welshblue Yeah! But the light seems a little bit unrealistic, in my opinion.

Ego Eram Reputo
Dragon Scales have my vote for a competition theme! dipstick
Here's my reptile texture. It may or may not work for Dragons.
dipstick
Just a bunch of layered dots and grids, then bumpmaped. Much of it got distorted when converted to seamless tile. Wikipedia has a nice snake pattern: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakeskin
Eli
My try looks more like a frog skin. 😊
lynxster4
Been playing with this for 2 days. (Darn you @welshblue!) I have a hard time letting things go too...........🤪 So, I cheated and came up with this. Simple shingle-fill with the paint bucket, some coloring, shading and Bulge.
