Pixey, Maximilian, LionsDragon, hope to see the results of applying presets.

lynxster4, great job.

Seerose, my portrait looks amusing among a gradient.

Thanks to all.

I made some presets to stimulate usage of Gradient Mapping.
Note: put in a folder Gradient Mapping only gradients necessary for you. At a large number of gradients, you can not see them all in the drop-down list of gradients.

Hi ReMake.
I put the additional gradient map files in a folder, sadly it doesn't work. The gradient Mapping plugin won't load folders.

Hi @sashwilko You have to first find your Paint.net User Files on your computer, then go to Effect Presets and in there you will find the Gradient Mapping Folder.  Copy the colors into that.  Good luck :).

@sashwilko,  pick the gradients you want to try out and put them directly into the 'Gradient Mapping' folder.

That's the only way they will work.     You'll be doing a lot of 'swapping'!

What Pixey and lynxster4 is say.

Unzip preset file into Documents\paint.net User Files\Effect Preset\Gradient Mapping.

Thanks for the replies, I know where the files go. but sadly without examples of what effect they create, it is basically a case of loading on a trial and error basis ?

Thank you so much @ReMake! Until today, I didn't know how badly I needed to be able to create metal in red (my favorite color).

I suspect I'm going to be using Gradient Mapping--and your fabulous presets--a lot now.
