HELEN
Oh my gosh! Maya is sooo cute! Cute as a button is so true. What a precious little darling. I love what you did. Makes her even cuter. The wings look good on her and great job with making the hearts in such a way as if she's floating through them. Very, very sweet. skullbonz
lmao,When I did the wings I said to myself that only welshblue would notice the wing direction, lol. The wing is from a butterfly that I mirrored and then I didn't think it looked right that direction so I spent the next hour rotating it and arguing with myself which way was better, lol. There were pros and cons to both directions. And on the warehouse I spent so much time on the shadows on the objects that I completely forgot about the floor, ooops. Oh and Thanks. Daniels
Lovely new spacescapes! They look like something that would be on Doctor Who. Quote Logo/Banner Competition My Gallery
skullbonz
lol,Thank you Daniels, one of my favorite shows, lol. In my newest two called dolphins-1&2 I made a dolphin in sculptris and saved the image with a black background in multiple views. Then I went into Paint.Net and attempted a try at making them look like they were jumping out of water like they do. It is harder to do than it sounds with both reflections and then the water splash. I used two different sky pictures I took around here for the backgrounds. Once I grim reapered the black background from the dolphins and placed them all where I wanted them to be,I merged them all with the background. Then I applied some water reflection but then came the task to make a drop ripple for each dolphin and angle it right to fit with the angle of the water. My solution was to copy a section of the water big enough for the three drop ripples, paste on a new layer and then adjust the position, angle and size and merge back with the whole. Now the water splash, lol, first one was white dots with some dents and then transparency. I didn't like it and tried clip warp for the second one. I know I did a lousy job and welshblue could probably hit a home run with this problem but it's a start and I would love to hear some suggestions or even see someone else's try at it. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-june-1st-dolphins/page-1 Edited June 2, 2013 by skullbonz Quote http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery
yellowman
They are so smooth and sweet, they need some more highlight and texture. Find some waterfall photos and select the parts that match the water splash, copy and paste them on the lower part of the dolphins, that should do the trick. I like Dolphins-1 Quote My GalleryMy YouTube Channel "PDN Tutorials"

HELEN
The dolphins are adorably cute! It's great how you have them facing different positions, which shows your capabilities with Sculptris. They make me smile--maybe it's because they seem to be smiling. Such beautiful work from you! skullbonz
I respect and welcome your comments welshblue,I consider you one of the best around here. You can make anything look real and your work inspires me to get better. Thank you very much Helen, sculptris is a real hard thing to learn. Specially if the only thing you ever molded in clay in your whole life was using play dough as a kid, lol. Wow yellowman,I can see where you took it from. Now I get the idea, cool, thanks. I also just found some water brushes for the custom mini brushes plugin, haven't tried them yet. doughty
Dolphins 2, so other worldly and the thick water splashes make it playful.
skullbonz
Thank you Beta0 and doughty. Recently I finally figured out the custom mini brushes and started playing around with them. As you can see in these pictures I have been having fun, lol,so much fun that In the alien ship picture I added a bit of humor. I thought the ship's wheel and the eagle alien(illegal alien, lol) would add a few smiles, lol. I'm on to something with these, keep an eye into the future. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery-update-june-1st-dolphins/?p=349670 Quote http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21233-skullbonz-art-gallery

HELEN
Impressive spacescapes! The very first one resembles planet Earth, but with such beautiful iridescence. I don't know why, but "Smooth Operation X" is what came to my mind for the next image. I think that I imagined the planets changing into different forms than what they're originally made up of. Smoothness is the key in this one as well as the colors. Darker contrasts and colors of heavy light is a great mixture. It gives movement to the image. The very last image is spectacular. I can feel the diamond-plated tiles beneath my shoes as they leave a hollow echo throughout the space room. All the details are amazing. The eagle looks a bit sad. Maybe he needs someone to talk to? Drydareelin
Your ideas are very impressive, and the texture you're using as brilliant. The only thing I'd recommend is having a few less stars (or just make them dimmer) as the brightness of the Nebula would overdo the star's brightness in reality Keep up the amazing work! skullbonz
Thank you everyone,I love making pictures with PDN,it is so much fun to see all the different things you can do with this program with some experimentation. But until a big company like Warner Brothers knocks at my door or gives me a call, I am still a newby, lol. In the one you like Helen,#144 I started with a mandelbrot fractal and tried to make land out of it and then a planet, lol. It is also the background in the logo comp themed TV stations, lol. 146 was a doodle Barbie, lol, but I liked it too. I have been playing with the custom mini brushes and although they are pretty cool I wish we could set the brush to what ever type we want and make our own shapes. They are technically just a picture and not a brush. I just entered a set of art pics with different color settings that I was experimenting with. Colors baby, colors!!
