Clipwarp - for glass & metal (new plugin 6th Jan 2013)

Red ochre

Recommended Posts

Red ochre, this is great, if you run it on a default Clouds with plugin default settings, you will get a good aluminum foil effect. Thanks for the plugin, Haven't had time to play with it, but I am sure it is great, I saw some great use of it here.

Running "dents" on default settings after you have rendered clouds also gives you another variation of foil, slightly smother. Good tip all the same yellowman, thanks for the share :)

Example with clouds & dents:

@NN: I really like the bumpy and glassy texture. Great idea.

Totally inspired first off by yellowman's idea ;) Thanks Helen :)

Also you could

1 - Run clouds

2 - Run Dents

3 - Run Splinter

4 - Then use clip warp

(all on default)

5 - Add a new layer, set the layer blending mode to Negation

6 - Use a linear reflected gradient (default colours)

7 - Merge the layer with your foil

8 - Use colour balance with the slider heading towards yellow for a really nice golden texture.

Result;

Then save as your chosen format for use later on :)

That is very cool nitenurse.

I got some interesting results using checkerboard and hex grid, both with shaped gradient.

I thought that too barbieq. Now I wish I hadn't posted my entry so quickly in the comp. Oh well, I can always start a gallery ...  ;)

I have to gather my thoughts first. On a good day that's like herding cats.

Sasha, NiteNurse and Drew, Many many thanks for the compliment - the most rewarding thing is seeing what great images you are all creating!

Blackpenny - wonderful images particularly the second one, very inspiring! :star:

preet5, Helen, Pixey, BBQ & Yellowman - thanks for the support.

I've been a bit lax in responding to peoples individual galleries lately (sorry) - I've been trying to add some form of smoothing to the plugin. I'm not there yet, so no promises. ;)

Hello ShinichiOkazaki,

Good dragon drawing! :star:

To get good results with Clipwarp you need a 'tone gradient' on the object layer.
In other words put some shading on the dragon sketch.
And make sure the image you copy to the clipboard has a good contrast.

Good luck and thanks for posting!

See, now I understand a bit more about how the plugin works too. You sketched the dragon? Nicely done. I love the curves & convolutions.
