  1. Burngirl; Just so you know, there is 800pixel limit on the dimensions of posted images (Rule #29). Can you please resize the images or post a link to them (as I have done in your post above). Thanks!
  2. Text uses the primary color. Go to the Colors Window and either click on a different color in the color wheel, or click on one of the palette colors. Expanding the Colors Window (More button) will give you further options to change the color by it's RGB/HSV components as well as the alpha (transaprency) value. For more help, try pressing F1 in Paint.NET to get ot the online documentation.
  3. What you're looking for is the 8-bit option when you save the file as a *.BMP. No plugin required - it's built right in
  4. Try holding down the Shift key when you right-mouse to constrain the angle to 15 degree increments.
  5. Read this thread thoroughly: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/
  6. 1. Ctrl + A (selects all of the layer). 2. Press M ( Move selected pixels tool ). 3. Click and drag the edge nubs. Not by default. Paint.NET is a bitmap editor, not a word processor. That means that text is not stored as characters, rather as pixels like any other part of your image (therefore not re-editable). However, these plugins might help: Editable Text v1.0 Speech Bubble
  7. DDS file support is built in. Is their some variant that you need specifically?
  8. Now that is a guide! Very nicely done. Thank you for going to the extra effort to fully document your plugin. I shall enjoy reading through the guide later today.
  9. Agreed. And a better image of the outcome would not go amiss (its very blurry - intentional?).
  10. Ahmed: Why not try two vanishing points? One would be on the left and the other on the right. That's how we "see" perspective. Traditionally isometric technical drawing uses 30 degrees, but then the drawing is more concerned with imparting information rather than perspective correctness.
  11. Hey there elijao! Welcome to the forum! Here's a list of plugins that you can add to Paint.NET: Plugin Index Here's a guide to help you install them: http://forums.getpai...roubleshooting/
  12. Second link is better IMHO. Certainly easier to follow with images
  13. Probably needs something stronger (washes away the taste of hospital food ) Great to have you back Possum!
  14. Hi Califlarry, welcome to the forum! That's because the image you're importing is much larger than the original you're working on. When you import it you're given options to: 1. Increase canvas size (to contain the larger image) or 2. Keep canvas size. You need to do the latter and then resize the layer down so it fits with your original canvas. It's not lying - you don't have enough memory. How big is the image and how many layers? You'll find a link to the Plugin Index in my signature. Plugins are listed by name and author. The one you're looking for is called "Photo Flood Fill"
  15. How about using Layers | Import from File? (or at least giving it as an alternative) It seems that opening, selecting, copying then pasting is just what Layers | Import from File was designed to do.
  16. We have numerous fire/flame/fire text tutorials. This just repeats what the other tutorials have already explained. Please read the tutorial posting guidelines and use SEARCH before posting tutorials. <Closed>
  17. Your antivirus software is giving a false-positive result. Rest assured that the download is fine (but your software is perhaps not). There is NO malware bundled with Paint.NET. Question: Do you have an earlier version of Paint.NET installed? If so, just use the Utilities | Check for Updates menu item to do the update.
  18. Fixed your image link (it wasn't showing the image). Photo editing is something that Paint.NET does well! There are many ways to adjust photos, but here's a nice simple way that gives a good result: 1. Open Adjustments | Hue / Saturation (Ctrl + Shift + U) 2. Step the Hue slider up to between 8 and 11 (depending on what you like the look of). 3. Step the Saturation down to 74 (or again how much you like). Press OK to accept the settings. 4. Duplicate the layer :DuplicateLayer: 5. Press F4 to open the upper layer properties dialog. 6. Set the Blend mode to Overlay and the Opacity to 146. 7. Merge Layer down  How does that look?
  19. The size of the circle is shown in the status bar as you draw it. You get the dimensions of the bounding rectangle and area. Consider one of the bounding rectangle dimensions as the diameter
  20. RE: More nubs for the line tools - this has had several airings. To my knowledge, Rick has not confirmed that 4.0 will add more nubs or the ability to add them. RE: Text - lots of neat features should be available: There is a kerning plugin (not released - don't know the status at the moment) http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=19751
  21. Don't select it. Make it an object by placing it on it's own transparent layer, then run Trail.
  22. Yup. Profile pictures are turned off. Sorry for the misleading error message
