  1. I would appreciate your input though, so chime in on the WOTW ideas thread. I always open to ideas (mostly because I don't have any original ideas anymore. )
  2. I agree with Welshie, once you start it you better stick around and keep it going. You get my vote if you're willing to step up and keep it running. I think it's an important comp that needs to be running every week or every two weeks. It was the reason I got into the comps in the first place. I would like to see it run in the same format as it did in the past, but that is really up to you to decide.
  3. I think you are doing fine. Just keep at it. It takes a while to work through all the things you want to do versus the things you need to do. You will get worked out. It's a good idea for a comp, things will work out in the long run. Don't get discouraged.
  4. I think it's a good idea too, but the shirt template is way too small to work with.
  5. Oh, the horror ! I see these ideas both as themes in a comp more than stand alone competitions. Both are great ideas though. I just don't see them as long term comps. I think that "Surrealist Landscapes" has the best shot as being a long term comp because you would be able to have more variety from week to week. I do think it does deserve further discussion. I can think of a few theme ideas for it already. I have had Fictional Movie posters on my idea list for some time but have never had the courage to pull the trigger on it for fear of a low turnout. I see it as a photo manipulation co
  6. You might try entering some of the comps, that is a great way for people to get to know you and your artwork. It also helps to know how the comps work when you participate in a a few of them. Opening a gallery is very helpful, but posting some of your works in the umbrella threads is also a great way to get noticed. It's all about participation in the community. We all have our strengths that we can offer to others to help out. No. If there is anything more evil than socks, it's snow globes. (and maybe British sitcoms, American politicians, and my evil twin)
  7. That was a really fun comp. Maybe we can do it again in the WOTW or maybe PDNnoob might do it in his comp.
  8. If someone saw your artwork for the very first time, they would swear that "Rear End" was done in a 3D program. All of us who are big fans of your amazing artwork know better. You are truly the King of Paint.net! Simply amazing piece! I also really like the one with the spheres, "Between a Rock", simply wonderful piece with the grungy textures and dark brooding look to it. One of your best abstracts IMHO! I have to stop letting things distract me and get to your gallery more often. Seems like I have missed so much. I'll have to stop in this weekend and take a closer look at some of the pieces
  9. Secrets is very nice, very effervescent! I really love Inner Light ! Wow ! That is so beautiful ! I don't know how I missed it, it's so beautiful !!!
  10. I think that's a great idea. I like the look of metal and gears and stuff like that.
  11. I think it's a great idea. We had a Theme in WOTW 28 where we painted selected cars and it was one of the most popular themes we've had. Here is the link in the ARCHIVES
  12. If you want to maximize the area you can work with then you can make it the larger size (500 x 200) but if you think you might want to use it as a forum sig on this forum then you will want to make it the smaller size (500 x 150). I like to change my sig from time to time and making them all 500 x 150 insures that I'll always have a ready supply of new sigs. Ironically, I've not changed my sig in weeks, but I think you know what I mean. One thing that a lot of artists on this forum like to do is to make your original image twice the size of the finished version and scale it down by 50% when
  13. Calla is so beautiful. I can't think of how you could make it any better. So really beautiful.
  14. "Nothingness" is really something! And a whole lot of it. AWESOME !
