how to resize the Pencil tool?
Ego Eram Reputo replied to ajfudge's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You can't dock the windows, but you can move them around and toggle their visibility. Try pressing F5, F6, F7 & F8 to hide the windows. The same keys toggles the visibility back on. -
You're typing in the extension. Don't. Just type in the file name (urbz) in that space. Choose the agif extension from the dropdown list. Answered on the next page.

Sounds like you have tried the most common solutions. Is there any further information contained in the error message? Perhaps an error code? It may be worth trying the scans (sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f) which pyrochild suggested in this this thread. Weather is usual for this time of year. Cold frosty starts and calm clear days.

TRs Displacement Map 3D Version 2.1
Ego Eram Reputo replied to TechnoRobbo's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
This seems vastly different to the other bump map plugins. Are you sure you wish to call it that? That said - it's an interesting distortion! Thanks for sharing it. Edit: Seems incredibly slow?? -
Large print file size
Ego Eram Reputo replied to therm's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
50 inches x 150ppi = 7500 pixels. There is no avoiding the math. Don't believe the size though. That is an estimated size based on the memory requirements to edit such an image. Your saved file size will have compression applied and will be much smaller. Try creating the image as a mock-up and saving as a PNG to get an idea of the file size. -
Exactly. You're combining a block of 12 source pixels to get one resized pixel, so you'e going to lose a lot of definition. You could try sharpening the resized image (Effects | Photo | Sharpen).

Here's how I would approach this: First - I think it's a manual job. There is just too much of the same color and texture to make an automatic selection of individual elements easy. 1. Duplicate the layer. 2. Rename it "Rose" 3. Hide lower layer & activate the upper layer (Rose) 4. Make a rectangular selection just around the rose. Press Ctrl + I to invert the selection and press Delete. 5. Activate the Eraser and increase the brush width to about 20 and zoom in a couple of steps. 6. Carefully erase around the border of the rose in small steps. I even get down to single clicks to do a nice job. 7. When done. Repeat steps 1-6 for the thorns (rename it thorns )

Stuck recoloring a B & W train photo.
Ego Eram Reputo replied to funnnyfarm's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Edited the topic title to be more descriptive. -
Once text is committed to the canvas it is not possible to edit it as a word processor would. This is because the text is only stored as characters while it is being written out. Once comitted to the canvas, the characters are converted to pixels and become groups of coloured pixels. For this reason we recommend you always place your text on its own transparent layer. Changing the text is then a matter of deleting the layer contents and rewriting the text. If your text is on its own layer the text can be easily repositioned with the Move tool

Here you go: Of course there will be a myriad of other fonts you could use. You could even install a specialized flowcharting font like http://www.fontyukle.net/en/Flowchart.ttf -
I'm sensing a new enthusiasm for the comps. A few new faces always helps. I'm finding a little more time to create stuff for the comps too. We have a wonderful bunch of entrants that it's always fun to join in. AWESOME topic mate!

I'm sure the system fonts Webdings & Wingdings have some right angles arrows. Check them out with my plugin WhichSymbol+ (link in my sig). -

TR's Fish Eye Plugin - Feb. 24, 2015
Ego Eram Reputo replied to TechnoRobbo's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
Nice! It's quick too. Great job. -
It will auto remove if it finds a pixel to be surrounded by transparent pixels. Making a selection will constrain the effect within the selection bounds. @archip: I'm going to take issue with the menu placement. Misc? To me, that's less than helpful. Why not place it in the Object menu? (as this operates on tiny pixel objects).

How can I make this text effect?

Ask questions about the technique in the thread I pointed you to. You will need to install the ClipWarp plugin if you haven't already done so. -
How can I make this text effect?

Try this tutorial: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25924-clipwarp-shiny-text/ -
You mean the bottom two panels? I'd try the recolor tool. 1. Set the Secondary color to #808080 (the background grey color) and the Primary to your new color (I used light blue). 2. Activate the Recolor Tool 3. Set the Tolerance in the Tool Bar to around 23% (trial and error found this setting) 4. Turn the Brush width up to 30 - something nice and fat to cover the body in relatively few strokes. 5. Carefully 'paint' the new color over the train body using the left mouse button
