  1. Nice plugin! Constructive critique: I think that Cloud Thickness is too powerful. Anything above 30% and you get almost 100% filled selection/layer. I'd reset the scale so that the maximum is 6000 on your current scale, then adjust the scale so it reads 1 to 100 or 1 to 256 (rather than 1000 to 10000). I'd also argue that Intensity is too intense - but not by the same margin. Edit: Why not use the Primary color as the cloud color? Or add a colorwheel so the user can select the color. I want to render pink clouds - not white
  2. By chance this was almost exactly the process I used for my Dwelling sig dome http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/26618-sotw84-dwelling-results-are-in/?p=393043
  3. No you won't. It will look very pixellated and nasty no matter what tricks you try because you're increasing the size by almost 300%. Best bet: Redo the images much larger. Larger than the required size - which should be considered a minimum. Remember, you can always squash them down.
  4. Similar to MadJik's Star Glow, but still a neat effect. Nice.
  5. Hi dennyOz - welcome! I don't think this is a layer issue. You may have turned on the Pixel Grid feature. Look for it in the Tool Bar the button toggles it on and off. The Pixel Grid is only visible when zoomed in to 200% or more. Quick layer summary: Layers are best described as clear plastic sheets. Put your image elements (the individual bits that make up the image) onto separate layers. The layers are viewed as one stack - so you see all the image elements assembled. To create a new layer click this icon in the Layers Window :AddNewLayer: Note that the order of layers is important. Layers which are higher in the stack (i.e. the Layers Window) will obscure lower layers unless the upper layer has some transparent areas to allow the underlying layer to show through.
  6. No chance. One plugin used well is worth 300 that were installed and never used. Listen to what pdnnoob and welshblue are telling you about this.
  7. You can use image fonts in much the same way. I wrote the WhichSymbol+ plugin to make it easy to write font based symbols to the canvas. Check out the link in my signature.
  8. Minners71 - ^ that is glorious! Liking the new sig too
  9. I really liked the Sweet Shack Helen! Beautiful. Congratulations on a well deserved win. Welshy - another fine entry! How do you put so much emotion into your images? Yellowman - Sorry to beat you for third. But it was my idea Thanks to all who took part and to Drew for playing the benevolent host. The competitions are going from strength to strength. Can't wait to see what Helen comes up with for the next one.
  10. I'm liking this. A nice effect. Many thanks for the update TechnoRobbo. Is your source code up-to-date too?
  11. Cool - my Moderator Superpowers are still working Glad we sorted it out for you. Enjoy your time on the forum!
  12. July Update 16 new plugins this month including the WSQ filetype and no less than 13 new plugins from @TechnoRobbo (who's been a busy boy then?). Welcome to first time authors @archip and @odalet Cycle HSV - @TechnoRobbo. Rotate color values according to Hue, Saturation and Value (Brightness). Distort this! - @TechnoRobbo. Distort a layer via four control points. Useful for distorting, stretching or skewing. Fish Eye - @TechnoRobbo. Fish eye distortion plugin. Full Spectrum Posterizer - @TechnoRobbo. Posterize an image with individual control over the separate RGB channels. Layer Cake - @TechnoRobbo. Slice an image into concentric circles and applies incremental rotations to each slice. Line Tracer - @TechnoRobbo. An edge detection / lineart effect with options to configure Line Width, Threshold (strength of the effect) and Color. Noise Bleacher - @TechnoRobbo. Desaturates and adds noise to an image. Options to control the desatiration hues and noise intensity. Offset - @TechnoRobbo. Offset the layer or selection in horizontal and/or vertical directions. Image wraps at the edges. A less complicated version of the Panelling Effect. PasteFill - @TechnoRobbo. Tiles the clipboard image across the canvas until fill. Much like Tile Fill from Clipboard Radial Prism - @Xhin. Changes the hue of the image in a reflecting circular prism-like pattern. Stray Pixel Remover - @archip. Removes pixels which are surrounded by transparent pixels. More poetically, it removes opaque islands in a sea of transparency. Tessellation Combo - @TechnoRobbo. A pair of plugins to offset an object then tile it from the clipboard. TR's Displacement Map - @TechnoRobbo. Enlargement/distortion effect. TR's Scatter - @TechnoRobbo. Neat effect which simulates the image being eroded into individual pixels by a strong wind. TR's ZigZag - @TechnoRobbo. Apply waves, ripples, zigzags and vibrato type distortions. WSQ file type - @odalet. Load and save WSQ files. The WSQ (Wavelet Scalar Quantization) algorithm is a compression algorithm used for gray-scale fingerprint images. Developed by the FBI.
  13. How many Tori tutorial does the forum need? As Welshy said yesterday (post #7 in this thread) - tutorial are jumping-off points. So these kind of belong together. If Yellowman wishes he can post his technique in a new thread. I have no issues with another tutorial.
  14. Agreed. <discussion split into new thread>
  15. Klaxxon's offshoot of this tutorial has been moved to it's own thread: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/26683-rainbow-torus/
  16. I really have no idea. Have you tried updating your printer drivers?
  17. PDF added with revised explanations ad restored images. Thanks to @DrewDale for supplying the original. Links to the plugins have also been updated.
  18. Hi Avalon. This thread is old and well out of date. Please repost your question as a new topic in order to get an up to date answer. Thanks. <closed>
  19. Is there a crash log on your desktop? If so, post it here.
  20. I don't know if there is still a quota. You may have reached your limit.
  21. I've got a copy in the pipeline. I'll refresh the language and attach it to the first post in this thread as a PDF. Feel free to rewrite it if you feel the tutorial can be improved. That would save me the effort of uploading new images
