  1. Create the weave on a separate layer and cut it to match using a selection of the text as a stencil. Try different layer blend modes to make the weave pattern overlay the text.
  2. Actually, at one stage Rick was contemplating removing the fill types.
  3. Thanks guys. Do you know - this is my first win. That makes me happy Congratulations to my podium mates: Yellowman, Helen & Lloyd. I'm especially honored to be among such esteemed artists. To the other entrants - thank you for entering. I hope you'll like next topic. Drew: Thanks for running another smooth competition.
  4. I'm surprised Chrome recognizes the extension AGIF. The AGIF extension is only required for the purposes of this plugin within Paint.NET. For all external uses you should rename the file with the extension GIF.
  5. This tutorial creates a nice textile weave pattern: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/20033-plaid-fabric-texture/ Try this camo tutorial as a background: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/19292-digital-camouflage/
  6. A nice pair of plugins, but both have been done before. Offset - see Panelling Effect. I also made one similar which I didn't ever release because of this sort of duplication (Echo - find it here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/14832-stereogram-tools-betas/). PasteFill - see Tile Fill from Clipboard I do enjoy reading through your code! Thanks for posting it.
  7. There are two rounded rectangle plugins available. Klaxxon has pointed to to the one I used. The other plugin would also do the job but it is less intuitive to use. The rounded rectangle tool can also be used, however the corner radius is fixed. I find Curtis' plugin is a very nice addition to your toolbox
  8. Yes there will. You can soften the Eraser right now by lowering the opacity of the Primary color in the extended Color Window. Reduce it to 2 & erase as normal. Voila! Soft edged erasing, which I cunningly call this "Soft Erasing"
  9. The tools are out of bounds to third party developers. Changes here would be up to the Developer - who is very busy on Paint.NET 4.0. Expect more tools and toys in the next version
  10. Here's a quickie Size is 400% finished size. (actual size) Lowest layer = rounded rectangle (plugin) in color #1D1D1D Second layer is a blue line 6px width with rounded end caps. Color #1A3B50 Third layer is the icon. Used WhichSymbol+ to render this @ 60pt in white. Filled with grey #AFAFAF. Fourth layer is the text rendered in a font called Designer Block (one of my favorites). Rendered in 48pt with the same grey as the icon fill. The default font looked too thick, so I thinned it by running AA's Assistant over the layer twice. Then I stretched it out width wise.
  11. The little icon in the sample quote button is part of a system font (wingdings I think). These fonts have other symbols you can use , like the thumbs up and thumbs down symbols traditionally used for like and dislike buttons. You might find it easier to access these symbols with my WhichSymbol+ plugin (follow the link in my signature). Symbols, like text, should be placed on it's own layer so you can manipulate it independently of the rest of the image.
  12. I would assume the tool will give you the option of individual removal. Of course we have no idea if removing and reinstalling will actually solve the problem. This is what I'd do: Start with the newer versions of the framework. Remove one. Reboot & retry Paint.NET. Reinstall the removed framework if the problems persist and move on to the next older one.
  13. If Paint.NET is still running, exit without saving. That will leave the image in the state it was when you opened the current session. Otherwise it looks like the original image is lost. How old is your last backup?
  14. Win 7: Navigate to the file using Windows Explorer. Right click on the file and see if there is an option labelled Restore Previous Version More >> http://www.howtogeek.com/56891/use-windows-7s-previous-versions-to-go-back-in-time-and-save-your-files/ XP/Vista: I don't know.
  15. Yes PDN will run on 4.0 - however it is not advised. Rick posted that he wished he hadn't included that functionality (there may be issues swapping *.pdn files). BTW you don't need to remove the different versions. Just turn them off one at a time: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/24916- Then I found this little removal tool: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/24987-cant-start-or-uninstall-systemcore-error/?p=375028
  16. The term 'actual size' is misleading. The size you see on the screen at 100% is achievable if you print at the same resolution as the screen (usually 96dpi). However it looks dreadful at this resolution.
  17. Nice effect! Any number of Slices + Rotation: 0.00 and I get a completely filled layer in exactly one hue. I anticipated getting a copy of the original (with zero rotation).
  18. Not reinstall, repair. Item 5 in the installation troubleshooting thread I linked to early on in this discussion.
  19. Probably something like this: BTW: This thread is dead. Has been for years. Please resist the temptation to revive old topics (Forum Rule #11). Instead, just start a new thread. Thanks. <locked>
  20. Please change the menu to Effects > Color (no S). Edit: Span = 0 crashes
  21. Cycle HSV appears in a new menu named Colors - this should be Color.
