Sarkut
How to use CustomBrushesMini on a fully visible image and have the custom brushwork on its own transparent layer. =================================== Flatten the image, select all and copy, unflatten and paste into a new layer. Do the custom-brushing on the newly-made full-image layer, okay it, then make a new transparent layer and press Ctrl F. You now have your custom-brushwork on its own transparent layer. Cheezeburger
Here is a cool tip: Create static bars over the screen (like for a video game or TV) by making a double gradient in a new layer, with white as primary and black as secondery, in the middle of the pictue, then run glass blocks on it. Addy
Hi All! I have searched the next 3 features, but I haven't found it. I think, these are not available. If it's true, these are my tips on new version. 1., Save all layers as a jpg 2., Two keyboard-shortcuts, what I can switch the currently layer(Up and down). 3., One keyboard-shortcuts, what I can enable or disable the currently layer's visibility. Thanks the answer. Have a nice day!

Sarkut
Keyboard shortcut to change visibility of the working layer: F4 + Tab + SpaceBar ( Pressing SpaceBar more than once will toggle visibility on and off.) If you are working with only two layers, you can shift which layer is active, too. Assuming both layers are visible to start: F4 + Tab + Spacebar + Enter + Ctrl Z This will change the working layer and leave both layers visible. Ego Eram Reputo
I just had to share this because I currently am in love with this effect: Charcoal Drawing from Photo: 1. Take your photo image and remove as much of superfluous background as possible. 2. Artistic > Ink Sketch (outline:70, color:0) 3. chrisjw37
I thought of that rule, I think this is a bit border line. But I don't think anyone would mind learning a few more tips and tricks for PDN. I sure don't mind 8) I think Rick, BB, CMD would agree too EXCELLENT Quote CjW Edit by Rick: Sorry, no flashy animations in avatars or signatures. jerry533482
I'm not sure this would qualify as a "trick", but I wondered how to do this effect for months as it wasn't officially stated in any tuts or even the getpaint.net manual until I wandered into a random post that stated how to do this "hidden effect". That hidden effect is simply variable rotation in a selection by right clicking & dragging. Quite simple, this is quite useful. Another "hidden" effect would be that you can use the arrow keys to manipulate PDN. Try it, and you'll see what I mean. Very useful for when you're editing a picture pixel-for-pixel. Spm3
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I've found that a light Smart or Surface Blur can take out all or most of those nasty, low quality picture artifacts. n d
Here's a trick I recently figured out: how to do colourblind filters on PDN. For those who don't know, a colourblind filter is a filter that simulates colourblindness; ie. it will make your image look like what it would look like to a colourblind person. This is often necessary for website design and other similar applications, to ensure that your graphics will be legible to colourblind persons. Anyway, here's how I do it - this trick simulates red/green colourblindness since it's the most common form: I take curves+ and select RGB, then deselect blue and set Red+green into half intensity, ie. set the upper-right dot down to 127 (so the scale is 0-127.) Then I take pixellab, and enter the commands (in this order!): Red add to green Green set to red And that's it, your image is colourblinded. Sharp
If you're making a gradient, and you don't want the middle (assuming it's radial) to be completely transparent, lower the opacity of the secondary color, and it fades better. Ego Eram Reputo
Ctrl + V pastes the contents of the clipboard into the active selection. Once pasted, the move tool will be made active and the control nubs appear so you can move, rotate and resize the pasted image.
