  1. OK thanks for the info. I'll re-download it this evening.
  2. Great new version , thanks Rick for all the hard work. Just out of interest, I had these plugins come up as loading errors in the settings menu , so I deleted them for now. I will update when they are ready but so you know , these are the ones concerned - Curtisblack.Common.dll Illnabplugins.dll ShadowEffect.dll Smudge.dll ZoomBlurDeluxev0.2.dll Apart from this v4 works fine. Shame there is still no ability to scroll down through long lists of plugins though. Having to click on the arrow at the bottom can be awkward at times and if you don`t place your cursor in the right place the list disappears and you have to select your chosen plugin again. I like the way you can drag the layers up and down though. Very handy. The number of new features easily compensates for my little grumble.
  3. Wow! So many plugins. What shall I do next? Which one to use? Mmmmm....... why not use them ALL! Great plugin pack TR. Can`t believe I`ve taken this long to download it.
  4. Looking forward to the final release. I like sound of the merge selected layers function , it will make things so much easier. As for the new UI being discussed , progress is always tricky sometimes ( just think of Win8! ) but once you get to know where things are you`ll wonder how you coped before. I think the most time consuming thing I am not looking forward to is installing all the new v4 plugins. Still, it will be worth it in end. Many thanks to Rick for spending so much time developing the new version. It must be the most eagerly awaited version ever. Have a beer - you deserve it.
  5. Great work Barbie. It really is a dream image! ( sorry ) I love the way all the colours and lines interact with one another. Nice one.
  6. Well here is my first serious attempt with Planetoid. I have called it Genesis because it took less than 3 days! I think this plugin is definitely worth pinning.
  7. You can`t win eh Dryda? In any case the best judge of your images is you. If you are happy that`s all that really matters.
  8. Great sense of humour and I did like the idea but on my Nexus 7's small screen it looked like someone was spamming again! It was not until I scrolled down a bit that I realised it was an outstanding new plugin. Some people could easily have seen the same thing and just clicked away from the thread without knowing what they had missed. Maybe if the link to the plugin was at the beginning of the post instead of the end you could include Genesis as well. Just a thought. ☺ Nice planet DrewDale.
  9. Stars and nebula/galaxy is great. What let's this image down a bit is the reflection. Seems a bit too dark and not reflective enough if that makes sense. But great work on the space part as usual.
  10. Awesome! I'll be downloading this one for sure. Great work EER. Have to agree with xod though. The intro is a nice idea but a bit long winded. I think for creating such a great plugin we can forgive you though! Lol

    Starscapes

With step 2 where it says `open a new canvas' he just means open a new image. Then copy and paste those stars to a new layer in your original image, do whatever you need to do on that layer then flatten the image. There should be just two layers to flatten - the Background layer and the pasted layer. In step 3 - add a new layer above your flattened layers in the original image , colour it black then start using the eraser. As you erase the black layer you will see the stars underneath on the layer below. This way you can choose how many stars you want to show through. Size of eraser? Down to you really depending on the size of your starscape. The larger the image the bigger the size of eraser I would think . Of course you could also vary the size for different parts of the image. If you wanted to leave a large dark area use a large eraser, and smaller for a small area. This is really all down to personal preference. Opacity - yes you are quite right there. This would be adjusted in the colours window. Step 4 - I can`t really add much to the tut there I`m afraid. I think he has done a decent enough job describing the process. If you do want more stars in a particular area like in the tut though , just use a starrier area when clone stamping. This is definitely one of those tuts where practice makes perfect. If you want some more tips on creating starfields have a read of this excellent PS tutorial by Greg Martin - http://gallery.artofgregmartin.com/tuts_arts/making_a_star_field.html Hope this clears a few things up.
  12. Such a mix of textures in this one. Great work for a doodle.
  13. New image called Crown of Thorns . Based on Yellowmans excellent Centipede Rose tut I added a few of my own ideas and effects to get a slightly different result.
  14. Deleted the images already? According to PB they have.
  15. Updated to latest version. Works great! The Randomize button is a great addition. Thanks TR. Good work. Have a beer - I`m sure you need it!
  16. Great plugin TR. I was just wondering though, would you say there is a minimum recommended spec for PC`s using this? Like having dedicated graphics and a decent CPU. I only ask because my laptop has an i7 chip but only integrated graphics and while I do occasionally get some different results moving the sliders for the most part I just get a black screen. I know you said it does not render every time and it is trial and error but I just get the feeling that my graphics can`t cope. There is no point in having a plugin that won`t work ( not a criticism of yours you understand, only of my feeble laptop).
  17. Thanks everyone. It was fun taking part. Dryda I like your new sig. Interesting idea showing the sizes of the planets like that.
  18. Very nice. Would this be for football or as you guys from across the pond call it - soccer?
  19. Excellent tutorial xod. Ingenious use of gradients, and well explained too. I'll be giving this one a go for sure.
  20. Incredible photo Sasha. Photo frame is OK but the texture on the two vertical sections left and right should be angled lengthways, not across. Top and bottom sections are fine.
  21. What can I say except WOW! You might not consider this to be your best but frankly I am struggling to find anything wrong with it. Simply amazing. I really like the reflection and the lighting on the window . I makes all the difference and really gives you the feeling that you are looking out into space as well. Starry background can`t be faulted, nebula is beautiful, especially with the bright stars in it. Lighting is good. Dark but not too dark so the details are not obscured. I suppose the one very minor fault I could find was with the planet and moon which I think are a bit jaggy when the image is viewed full size. If you don`t magnify it though the edges seem OK. That`s one of the reasons I start big and reduce the size of the final image. Great texture on the spaceship and the slightly glowing lines add to the feel of being in an alien ship. Great image Dryda - really well done. Oh - and I forgot to say thanks for the progression images. Fascinating seeing how the image was put together.
