  1. Note the red advisory at the top of the first post. Alivate Batch Processor is incompatible with pdn4.
  2. Fabulous looking plugin! I have some Scottish ancestry. Reproducing my clan tartan would be cool - except that I'd have to re-enter it each time. How about an option to load & save patterns?
  3. Hi Mark! Check out the Plugin Index. There's a link in my signature. Look up Grid Maker. You'll want the latest one by BoltBait.
  4. Yes. Though these are not likely to receive the same status as an original tutorial. Posting a link would take care of the "credit" issue as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure YouTube has guidelines dealing with this. Should be family friendly to be linked here
  5. IS NOT! Its real *choke* *cough* *splutter* Wha...?? Oh, deary deary me. Ruy Lopez was in fact a 16th-century Spanish monk. I trotted out this very fact last Tuesday evening at my chess club.
  6. ^ this +1 Always get your plugins from this forum. Never anywhere else. I hope your system is Ok cubsterky. Please do take what null54 said seriously. A virus scan with a good scanner should be a priority right about now.
  7. Not once the paint.net session is closed. If it's still open the steps will be shown in the History window and the plugins will retain their last setting(s). If you have the pdn file with the layers intact - you could zip it and upload it (so long as it's family friendly). Some of the smart cookies here might give you their best guess.
  8. There are six selection modes in the tool bar. Five of these allow you to combine consecutive selections in different ways (add, subtract, invert, intersect, xor). See http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/ShapeSelectionTools.html for examples on how each mode works and http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/MagicWand.html for an example of selection building using the magic wand. Tip: you can use the magic wand and the shape selection tools in combination to create complex selections.
  9. BoltBait does an excellent job of explaining how to use CodeLab in a series of tutorials. Wander over to his website and have a look. I can recommend this tutorial http://boltbait.com/pdn/codelab/help/tutorial2.asp
  10. Hi 9Edits, welcome to the forum Once you have the selection copied, activate each layer in turn (click on it in the Layers Window), pressing Ctrl + V to paste the copied selection into each layer. Or, copy the selection into a new layer (Ctrl + Shift + V) then duplicate the layer as many times as needed.
  11. That's a very nice effect xmario. Thank you for posting it.
  12. We have little control over how plugin authors use additional supporting files. Where they are used (its reasonably rare) we expect the author to make it clear where the files should be located. Where it is not clear, mention it in the plugin thread and ask the author to spell it out.
  13. Recolor Tool ? Ref: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/RecolorTool.html
  14. These are filetype plugins > http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/46-filetype-plugins/ The unzipped dlls go in the paint.net/Filetypes/ folder. If there are additional files that the plugin requires they go in the same directory UNLESS the author says otherwise. There is a list of Filetype plugins here:http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/15260-plugin-index/?p=252432 All the plugins in this forum are Effects http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/7-plugins-publishing-only/ They go in the paint.net/Effects/ folder. Same deal with supporting files - put them in the same directory unless told otherwise. Plugin packs (http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/44-plugin-packs/) may contain a mixture of Effects and Filetypes. Generally the author should specify which are Filetypes - assume all others are Effects. If you get stuck, download a copy of the Plugin Index and look up the plugin. It tells you which files are required and what type the plugin is.
  15. Shapes can be drawn with dotted/dashed borders. 1. Activate the Shapes tool. 2. Select the Shape from the drop down list. 3. Select the Outline option (no fill). 4. Choose your Brush Width. 5. Set the Style to Dotted! 6. Drag out the Shape - it comes with a dotted border. If you want to add texture to the inside of the Shape, set the Fill to one of the preset options.
  16. Can you show us what you're trying to create? A paint splatter or an outline made up of dots?
  17. Copy the error message here so we can diagnose it further.
  18. As the author, those omissions concern me greatly Marilynx. I'll contact you via Private Message (PM) to discuss it.
  19. This tutorial might help: Side-by-side images
  20. 1. Do a cold boot. 2. Download a fresh copy of paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/download.html). 3. Unzip it and run the installer. Tell us what happens.
  21. Try an alternate removal & clean utility: Revo Uninstaller. It's free.
  22. I wrote a significant amount of the online documentation. I also wrote the book http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/25384-mastering-paintnet-ebook/ If you feel that concepts have not been well explained, please let us/me know so that we can review the subject. The online documentation is not "cast in stone" - I'm open to making improvements, because in the end the user is who these are for.
  23. Post #2 - details the use of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Is that what you tried?
