  2. Light rays Effect Plugin What's this? This is a Render Texture Effect plugin. NB: Moved from Render (too crowded) to Texture submenu. Starting from the center (that you could offset) it will draw alternated triangles as rays. It uses the Primary and Secondary colors as default and could be multi-colors from the current palette of colors. Up to you to store your palettes and load your favorite before running this effect. The brush width is used to draw the empty triangles (uncheck “Fill the rays”). Download it! Plugin LightRays.dll Here is the DLL The MadJik's All plugins package is available ! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture (was previously in Render). Quantity of rays It works well in the range 4 to 200. Less than 4 give nothing or strange triangles. More than 500 gives strange figures and requires CPU... Even number is better for symmetry than odd number. Also for symmetry with colors from palette try to use multiple of the quantity of colors. Colors from palette: Number / Start It works only with the current palette of colors! Number: 0 to use primary and secondary colors. 1-96 to load the colors from the current palette. Each colors are repeated around the circle till it is filled. Start: From the standard palette (black, dark grey, red, orange, yellow, etc.) you could choose to skip black and dark grey, set the value to 3 to start by red color. The color index is modulo 96 (number of colors in a palette). Center position offset X / Y (in %) Negative value to move left/up, positive to move right/down. 100% is the width/height of the image, 0% is at the center, 50% is on the edge of the image. Radius External / Internal Allows you to reduce/increase the length of the ray. It's in %, not in pixel. Allows you to reduce/increase the center point/circle. You could obtain a ring instead a circle. Rotation Angle / Ratio of the rays Rotation: Allows you to choose different angle for the whole result. Ratio: Allows you to change the ratio of the rays to have one thick one thin and so on. Use random Check it to allow some chaos based on the random factor. Random factor This factor is here to set the strength of the randomness. 0 is no random effect. The impact is on the external/internal radius of each ray. Reseed (0=auto) If not 0 set the random generator to this fix value. It means the result won’t change while you are playing with the other setting. If set to 0, every change will produce different random result. Fill the rays Check/Uncheck to choose as you like, filled or empty triangles. The lines are drawn with the actual brush width. Fill with color gradients The rays are filled with a gradient from primary color to secondary color. With colors from the palette, the gradient use actual color and previous color from the palette. If Offset secondary color is checked then the gradient uses the actual color and the color below from the palette (on the standard black on the first row will be used with white on the row below). Radius of gradient The gradient is based on the extreme limits of the triangle but here you could change the limits to make a repeatable gradient. Swap the gradients Invert the direction for the gradients. Draw the gradient as ray As it says! Check the box you will understand. Offset secondary color If Offset secondary color is checked then the gradient uses the actual color and the color below from the palette (on the standard black on the first row will be used with white on the row below). Use anti-aliasing Check/Uncheck to choose as you like. The Examples: Voilà! Enjoy! Let me see what you could do with it!
  3. Fractal attractor What's this? Still looking for textures and fractal generator this plugin is based on this link! The result is impressive. This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection). Tip: Give better results with large images (5000x5000 or 4000x3000 or 3200x2400). Download it! Plugin Fractal attractor.dll Here is the DLL It will be added in the next package release... MadJik all plugins pack How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. Distortion X: this value has an influence on the calculation of X (horizontal). Distortion Y: this value has an influence on the calculation of Y (vertical). Details: Low value to have more surface, High value to have more pixels. Formula: choose begin 4 formulas (using Sin/Cos/Tan in various ways). Chaos 1 to 4 mix all the formulas. Zoom: zoom... it isn't a real zoom as the aspect could change (more/less details). Level: this affect the number of color/grey to use. Origine: you could move the center. Color mode: choose between grey levels, or a formula (using Sin,Cos or Tan) to give colored result. Color channels: r for red, g for grenn, b for blue, choose to replace the channels each over. Some examples: initial size 4000x3000 reduced to 800x600 and autolevel. initial size 5000x5000 reduced to 500x500. Enjoy...
  4. @Woodsy rediscovered this excellent tutorial while archiving tuts to PDF. I was so taken with the effect I wrote a plugin to make it easier to create a very similar effect. I know this is similar to Ed Harvey's Weave, but that seems to be non-functional in PDN 4.0+ The UI: Download the DLL >> WovenPhoto94.zip After installing, you'll find it in the Effects >Texture Demos: Run it twice with different sizes for some interesting overlays... Download it here for the time being. I'll put it in my Plugin Pack soonish.
  5. Auto Chrome Grain filler texture What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. Autochrome is a primary method to obtain colored photos. See the wiki for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autochrome_Lumi%C3%A8re This is not to be confused with Auto Chrome Noise (work unit is pixel). https://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=19398 This effect fills the image with grains (circles) trying to share in 3 colors Orange (25%), Green (40%) and Purple (35%). We could add constraints as -a distance between grains (like a regular grid), -a minimum size, -a maximum size, -etc. All grains are first placed on the canvas (center of the grain). After that for each grain the distance is checked with other grains to obtain the maximum radius possible without overlaying any other grain. All grains could be contiguous. To understand how it works: -set the quantity to 1 -set the distance to 0 -set the minimum radius to 1 -set the maximum radius to max (500) -set the reseed >0 The first point is huge. Start to increase the quantity 1 by 1 to see each new grain appear. The first point will reduce when a new point will “pop-up” nearby. Etc. Download it! Plugin AutoChrome.dll Here is the DLL http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/AutoChrome.zip The MadJik's All plugins package is available! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture (the previous version was in the menu Color). Quantity of point to draw Big value could require more time/CPU. Distance/Grid Used to align the center of the points. Visible if Grid is checked. Fill inside If checked the point is a filled circle. Otherwise the circle is empty. The brush width is used for the size of the line but isn’t involved in the calculation of the radius. Keep inside The points are fully inside the canvas. Draw squares If checked the point are replaced by a square instead a circle. Point size (radius) mini/maxi Set the constraints for the radius. Orange / Green / Purple (colorwheel & factor slider): Set your color choice and the ratio between each other. Reseed Zero is for full random effect. 1 and more is the Start value of the random generator. It means you will always have the same result if you use the same value. The points will be at the same place but the colors could change. The Examples: original was 4000x4000 background layer was a gradient Duplicate/Rotate 4x the first effect, add another with larger brush width and TG angle Some colors like camouflage The same after Median noise Radius 35 Percentile 45 + Ctrl-F This texture used with Shape3D https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/111733-make-a-shape3d-rocket/ Voilà! Enjoy! Let me see what you could do with it!
  6. Animal texture What's this? This is a work based on this link: http://culturemath.ens.fr/contenu/dossiers.html#pelage and the PDF file to illustrate the content: http://culturemath.ens.fr/maths/pdf/analyse/vidiani_motifs_pelage_animaux.pdf (link to a PDF in French about “boring” mathematic formulas). Near the end of this document there is a small program written for Maple. I tried to adapt this code to Csharp and from bi-color to RGB. Finally, I can’t reproduce the skin of any animal as I think it should be. But some results give interesting patterns or textures. Download it! Plugin animal.dll Here is the DLL http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/Animal.zip The MadJik's All plugins package is available! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. Steps Number of steps. Ration Horizontal/Vertical Aspect ratio horizontal/vertical of steps. Calcul Mode The choice of different formulas. Four modes are possible: -Normal: the formula from the original code of the document except it works with RGB. -Sinus: use a Sinus calculation as start point to generate more texture. -Difference: use a subtraction (x-y) calculation as start point. -Black & White: same as Normal but in grey levels (bi color like in the document). Frequency / Distortion / Variation / Angle / Moire / Wave These settings are used in the formula. Just play with them to see how they interact each over. Cycles Number of cycles of calculation. The more the slower. Red / Green / Blue Extra steps factor per channel. The Examples: For this texture to this skin: Voilà! Enjoy! Let me see what you could do with it!
  7. Regular noise texture What's this? This is a texture plugin to create pseudo random noise. As it uses a formula we could expect some repeating/regular canvas. Download it! Plugin RegularNoise.dll Here is the DLL The MadJik's All plugins package is available! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. Matrix sliders The formula uses a matrix 3x3 with different weights for: -the corners (x4 weight=16), -the sides (x4 weight=8) and -the center (x1 weight=4) Noise factor This factor is an overall coefficient. Value 0 gives lines. Small values give diagonals. High value for chaotic noise. Zoom The zoom multiplies the rendered canvas into bigger squares. Matrix linked (first slider) When checked each amounts for the matrix are linked (ex. corners = 8, sides = 4 and center = 2). Uncheck to move the sliders separately. Color Mode The result of the formula serves as the base to determine the color. Three modes are possible: -Gray (Black, gray and white) -Color 1 (Sinus) Color formula using Sinus calculation -Color 2 (RGB) hexadecimal transformation to obtain R G and B channels. -Color 3 (Tang) Color formula using Tangent calculation (camaïeu of green and purple/rose) Centered When checked the result of the formula is symmetric based on the center of the image. Unchecked, no symmetry and the base is the top left corner. Angle This angle is used in the color calculation (not available in color mode 2 RGB). The Examples: Voilà! Enjoy! Let me see what you could do with it!
  8. Vibrato What's this? I was looking for some stuff for a new plugin when I found this site concerning SOUNDS Effect plugins. http://plugin.org.uk/ladspa-swh/docs/la ... h_sEc2.110 "The function used is z = (x - y) * (x - 1) * (x + 1) * (y - 1) * (y + 1)." So I put this formula in the codelab. And Tada! I've revised the code to have sliders per chanel of colors Red, Green, Blue except Alpha. This is a texture plugin. But it use the existing image for the result. And it doesn't work on transparent pixels. ___________________________________________________ Download: Click here ===>Vibrato<=== Click here How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The MadJik's All plugins package is available ! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 ___________________________________________________ The User interface For each chanel: Zoom X/Y: wave factor on the axis X or Y. Adjustment: frequency factor. So you could use this plugin on a white/black/monochrome image to create a texture. Or you could use this on a picture to distort it. On=Grey, Off:colors: As it says. On for grey levels rendering. Off for colored rendering. ___________________________________________________ Some examples: Another 'art' using this plugin: Voilà !
  9. Radial Colors Effect Plugin What's this? This effect is an (r)evolution of the Radial.cs provided with the CodeLab. I took this example to test more the new possibilities offered by the version 3.20 of Paint.net, regarding 'user interface'. I've also made the Rainbow Twist in the same way http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7182 How does it works? The effect uses the predefined formulas based on sinusoid curves to define and mix the three basic color Red, Green, Blue. Download the DLL Plugin Radialcolors.dll Here is the DLL The MadJik's All plugins package is available ! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. A scrollbar appears if the UI is too long for your screen ...X/Y Factor: quantity of periods on X/Y axis. ...Quantity of rays: quantity of rays you want around the circle. ...Angle: Start angle of the first ray. ...X/Y offset of the center: as it says... ...Formulas R/G/B: It is possible to choose between five different formulas per color: Rays/Circles/Checkers/TwistL(left)/TwistR(right) ...Amount of R/G/B: adjust the weight per color. ...Ratio: This ratio affects the overall period: 100=1 period. ...Limit level for the lines: When the formulas give a result below the limit, the value used for the color is the amount from the slider. This makes a cut in the colored gradients. ...Lines background: Off, change the alpha value instead the color if the formulas give a result below the limit level. Some examples Frequency illusion: Voilà! New (yma:170715): -Always centered by default -Increase the range of main sliders -Small increment for the offset vector
  10. Rainbow twist Colors Effect Plugin What's this? This effect is an (r)evolution of the RainbowRadial.cs provided with the CodeLab. This is quite similar to the Radial Colors http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7181 How does it works? The effect uses the formulas based on sinusoid curves to define and mix in a rainbow twist the three basic color Red, Green, Blue. The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. ...Brightness / Contrast: affect the colors ...Radius: Set the radius of the twist. ...Origine: X/Y offset of the center. ...Color mode: Choose between 4 modes -Rainbow S -Rainbow T -Sweet Candy -level of Grey Download the DLL Plugin RainbowTwist.dll Here is the DLL The MadJik's All plugins package is available ! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects Microsoft Store version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: /My Documents/paint.net App Files/Effects/ You have to adapt for your language My Documents Examples Sweet Candy Using blur + layers blend mode Enjoy the colors!
  11. Sierpinski triangle remastered What's this? If you look for Sierpinski triangle over the forum you'll find a sample for the Codelab. I tried it (in 2008 or so) and found it too light and poor. So I wanted to give a try to this sample but the project fell asleep... Recently I found another approch to the formula on this site so... This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection). Tip: Give better results with square images 512x512 1024x1024 2048x2048 4096x4096 etc. Download it! Plugin Sierpinski.dll Here is the DLL It will be added in the next package release...
