  1. "Advanced" is descriptive of both the effect's complexity and the amount of effort required to master it. Creating Shapes is not just about fiddling with the parameters and clicking OK I put Dr Scott's Markup Renderer in the same submenu - because you need to know something about HTML/CSS/XML or MathML to use it.
  2. Two plugins by asmageddon (Strange Bulger and Strange Bulder have been flagged as having been updated for pdn 4. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/32419-asmageddons-strange-bulger-strange-bulger-b/
  3. Thank you for reviving these plugins ReMake! I edited the link to the list of incompatible plugins - it was pointing to the CodeLab thread.
  4. As far as I'm aware, Shapes don't have the ability to taper a line. The lines and curves are fixed widths. This might curtail some of the more decorative elements. I'm sure someone could come up with a workaround based on multiple lines which diverge slightly.
  5. Missing. Missing. Fred Arrow keys and rotation are mentioned here: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/KeyboardMouseCommands.html I don't know. I haven't found one. I'll ask Rick. Used to be that the Ctrl + arrow keys moved by a larger increment. I'm not sure if there is a modifier in pdn 4. They should all be covered in the Keyboard commands page linked above. There is a list of URL's in the documentation: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/WebLinks.html What I've done is simply bookmarked these URL's Documentation: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/index.html paint.net website: http://www.getpaint.net/index.html You've raised some excellent points Fuzzy. Thank you. I'll raise these with the documentation team and see what we need to fix.
  6. You're already asked for help in the plugin thread (the correct place ). I'm going to close this duplicate thread. <locked>
  7. Done. The reason this wasn't flagged is that I did not manually check filetype plugins or external apps against 4.0.6. I'll update the list when I get time.
  8. QFT There is no guarantee of this. You should always check them yourself after downloading and prior to installation.
  9. Read this: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/ Post #2.
  10. You are getting the "Canvas Size" dialog because a canvas is already open which is smaller than the clipboard image. You can avoid the prompt by using Edit > Paste in to a New Image (keyboard shortcut : Ctrl + Alt + V). This command automatically creates a new image the same size as the clipboard image - hence there is no need to resize. Ref: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/EditMenu.html
  11. That's a CSS solution. The original poster wanted to graphically merge two images. Oh, and the last post was four and a half years ago. I reckon they have found a solution by now. That's why we have Forum Rule #11. <closed>
  12. That was it exactly. For the edges - Once I rendered the pieces to their own transparent layer & created a solid border, I used Drop Shadow twice (sorry BoltBait!). Once for the highlights and once for the shadowed edges. I lowered the layer opacity to fine-tune the strength of the effect.
  13. Very cool I'm impressed I've been re-reading The Hobbit lately, so here's Thrain's Map in jigsaw. Image credit: EyeofSauron Link: http://www.deviantart.com/morelikethis/artists/397889611?view_mode=2
  14. 1. Place your text on it's own transparent layer. Somewhere close to the top of your image will do. 2. Use the Align Object plugin to center it horizontally. 3. Use the Panelling plugin to repeat the text as many time as you want.
  15. Subtraction mode can be enabled from the icons in the Tool Bar when the selection tool is active, or by using Alt + Left Mouse Button.
  16. Printer options do leave something to be desired. Fortunately there are a couple of very good plugins which should rescue you. Print It and Printer+
  17. Shame they didn't all buy a copy - I'd be a full-time Rule Ogre here on the forum Curating a list takes some effort (Plugin Index = 1.5 million views! Six years in the making!). It needs to be monitored and updated frequently. A forum section where users can post links is going to require at least an index, which again takes maintenance. If you or anyone else is willing to take on the task then we have something to start with. Any takers?
  18. It operates on groups of pixels (objects) with an edge that borders a transparent area. The Object needs to be on a layer which is otherwise transparent. BTW: Alias does not smooth edges. Quite the opposite. It removes smoothing (antialiasing) so you can reapply it with another plugin (like Feather). Think of it like this: you have a circle on a transparent layer. If you blur the circle, it will get a fuzzy edge. Alias removes this fuzzyness restoring (almost) the original pixelated edge.
  19. See http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/28270-megalo-virus/ for more information.
