  1. How about posting the Shape (XAML - between CODE tags) so we can see what you're looking at?
  2. Ah. Right. A physical thingy then. Gotcha ; I remember 20 sided die (icosahedron) from my Dungeons & Dragons days! There is an interesting technique which divides the 20 faces of such a polyhedra to form a geodesic grid. Each of the smaller divisions is (I think) an equilateral triangle. Reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geodesic_grid Because of the triangles, I wonder if this would be an easier task than creating 'citrus' segments? Reference: http://math.stackexchange.com/questions/11499/is-it-possible-to-imitate-a-sphere-with-1000-congruent-polygons
  3. I'm confused. Why do you need the segmented development? Why not just wrap the 2D image around a sphere?
  4. Brilliant tutorial ReMake! Thank you so much for writing it. It will be a fabulous resource for plugin authors wishing to migrate from CodeLab to Visual Studio. Bravo!
  5. Hi jw311 - welcome to the forum I recommend you go back to the designer and tell them you need a transparent background (i.e. not a jpg). I can't quite believe they would supply something like a logo as a jpg.....
  6. Really? I think it's incredibly powerful. Tip: You only need record the top three (manually write down the figures). An easier method is to run Rotate/Zoom on multiple different layers without changing the settings. The same rotations and tilts will be applied.
  7. The trick here is to create the new graphics on separate layers. Make all the graphics along (imaginary) horizontal guidelines. Then you can apply the same rotations & tilts. Pan the layer following rotations/tilts to move the overlay into place. In this image I created two extra layers, one for the arrow and another for the text. Both were originally laid out horizontally. Embellishments: 1. Arrow was a custom filled Shape. 2. Added a drop shadow to the arrow to give it some depth. 3. Text layer had the opacity lowered (press F4) - it looks nicer as it gives the appearance of being overlaid over the pitch. 4. Erased the parts of the 'm' which overwrote the player.
  8. Full(ish) list here: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/KeyboardMouseCommands.html
  9. No. Shape3D does exactly the opposite - it wraps a flat 2D image around a 3D object.
  10. I'd suggest you try rotate/zoom (Ctrl + Shift + Z). You'll need to place your arrow on its own transparent layer. Then use the roll control & pan to position it. Tip: record the settings so you can duplicate the perspective effect on other elements (like additional text/arrows).
  11. Quickly fill an entire layer with Ctrl + A then Backspace (fills with Primary color). Shift + Backspace fills with Secondary color.
  12. There is. 1. Activate the unmodified flipped layer - it should still have a grey wolf in it. 2. Set Primary to FFF4CC 3. Set Secondary to F9F9F9 4. Activate Recolor tool 5. Set Brush Width to 60, Hardness to around 60. Tolerance remains at the default 50. 6. "paint" over the grey wolf. If the background is white, some of that might be recolored too. Don't worry. Tip: try to do this step in one continuous go. 7. Not 'cream' enough? Repaint the entire wolf again on another single continuous motion. 8. Trim off the overlap on the white background by magic-wanding the white. Adjust the tolerance until all the background is selected. Press Delete. Red glowing eyes. 1. Copy the eyes from the base layer as before. 2. Paste both eyes into the same new layer. 3. Open Adjustments > Hue & Saturation 4. set Hue to -38 & Saturation to 127. Leave Lightness at 0. (Hue: 26, Saturation: 200 & Lightness:9 = glowing golden eyes )
  13. Yes you can do it. Performance will suffer. Rick outlined the steps here http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/28966-portabilise-my-own-copy-of-pdn/?p=413380 According to the FAQ, LiberKey is distributing a portable version (don't know if they are up to date though). See http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/399-frequently-asked-questions-faq/
  14. Glowing eyes..... 1. highlight the layer which has the unmodified flipped wolf. 2. make a careful selection around the eye with the Ellipse select tool. Zoom in with Ctrl + Mousewheel makes it easier. Get as close as you can then press M twice. See the control nubs? Right click and drag to rotate the selection then left-click and drag the control nubs around to fine tune the selection to just the eye. 3. Press Ctrl + C to copy this selection. 4. Press Ctrl + Shift + V to paste the selection in to a new layer. 5. Activate the new layer (should be below the Glow layer - drag it there if need be) 6. Go to Adjustments > Brightness & Contrast. Set Brightness to 80, contrast to 50. 7. Repeat for the other eye. Result: Nice doggie! Ooooohs a GOOD BOY then?
  15. My quick hack - without a plugin in sight... 1. Paste or open the image with paint.net. 2. Go to Image > Canvas size and uncheck the maintain aspect ratio checkbox. Double the width figure and type it into the box (928 pixels). Anchor the image center left. 3. Magic wand the unused side of the image and press Delete. 4. Duplicate the layer. 5. Got to Layers > Flip horizontal & flip the upper layer (i.e. make sure it's the one highlighted in the Layers Window). 6. Duplicate the flipped layer. 7. Set the Primary color to #FF6A00. Set the Secondary color to #404040 (both hex numbers - you can copy + paste them in to the Hex box) < Pro tip 8. Activate the Recolor tool Make sure you're Sampling Secondary as BoltBait suggested. 9. Set the Brush width to around 20. 10. Set the Hardness to around 15%. 11. "paint" over the grey wolf in the upper most layer. It should be one of the flipped ones. Keep away from the important bits - eyes and nose. These should remain black. 12. When you're finished - press F4 and set the blending mode to Glow. Set the opacity to around 80. Should look something like this: Is that something like you want?
  16. Ah Grasshopper. Your search fu is weak. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27227-paintnet-40-alpha-build-5034/page-6#entry399792
  17. Did you know Firefox can read PDF files? It opens them in a new tab. Simple and easy. Especially since most of the PDFs I view are found online. When I found this out I was thrilled. No more nagging Adobe updates for me.
  18. Looks like a bad file association. Help is at hand http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-set-default-programs-and-file-types-in-windows-10/
  19. Try this keyboard workaround on the master image: Ctrl + A (Selects all) Ctrl + Shift + C (Copy merged - i.e. everything visible composited into a single layer) Ctrl + Alt + V (Paste in to new image) Your current image remains open for editing while you get a brand new image to view & apply further processing. No saving is required using this technique
  20. Are you after a vignette effect with the image you bought used as the outer frame? I made the hole in the center of the rainbow layer using the ellipse selection tool + delete key. The edges were softened using TR's EFX plugin
  21. Use a third layer. Stack them this way... Text Colored bar Background image
  22. Layers, layers, layers! Place your image on the lowest layer and the text on a layer above. Save it as a PDN to preserve the layer structure. Then use File > Save As.... to save the image in the format you need. At any time you can reopen the PDN image and change the lowest layer image. As you're only changing the lowest layer, the upper layer will stay the same.
