  1. @toe_head2001 Thanks for the reply. Looks like it is very easy to go out of bounds. Adjusting the sliders in the proper order as not to go out of bounds is the answer. No safeguards to warn the user like I have seen in other plugins. Adjusting the sliders from the bottom seemed to work until I got to the top sliders and rendered another crash. Same issue with values set to negative numbers. Posted for @nycos62
  2. After copying and pasting the original code into codelab I am able to preview the effect and see that a white layer would be rendered to square blocks. Moving the sliders adjusts as expected but of course it doesn't render to canvas. After I build and install the DLL, then restart Paint.Net, moving the fourth slider results in this crash report.. 3. Morning @Pixey Easily reproducible. Surprised too that no one has noticed this to date. Change your secondary color to something other than white. Create a selection and move it anywhere. You will see the remaining blank space has been filled with transparency of your secondary color. If this is intended behavior the OP will be glad to hear. If Not - @Rick Brewster will be interested in this. Here's a screenshot of what is happening. After moving selection, color picker was used to display new transparency based on whatever secondary color is selected. When exported to other apps this causes the OP to see unwanted artifacts. Hope this clarifies
  4. Hi @nycos62 Welcome to the Forum. I remember this question being asked before and here is the appropriate response from @Rick Brewster Posted for a quick answer.
  5. Hi @wiz555 My turn to chime in on your appealing project. First question I have is what size are your map templates? The bigger the better Are you scaling them down to post to the forum? After making the selection press CTRL-I to invert selection. That's the answer to all your questions. Spend enough time on each layer to outline the different regions allows you to be selective when adding color. Each layer defines the outline of unique areas and allows you to easily select different regions. Here is an example of what 1 layer would like like (Downsized for posting purposes) USStates by Andrew Donaldson, on Flickr Hope this helps your project maps.
  6. Hi @ClissaT Welcome to the Forum. Good thing I'm not on strike LOL Looks like a 3 step process to me Run Clouds at default settings Run Dents and adjust to size desired Add color (this can be done in many ways). My quick answer to get you close. Other members may chime in with other suggestions Let us know if this works for you. Here is a comparison Dents by Andrew Donaldson, on Flickr
  7. Hi Again @jacrow From some of the previous posts , I understand that the newest release of Paint.Net has some new features. These features are what allow GMic to run. The current version is 4.1.5 Upgrading may resolve the issue. https://www.getpaint.net/download.html For clarification the plugin is found in Effects/Advanced/GMic Let us know what happens.
  8. Hi @jacrow Welcome to the forum. No other software is needed for this new plugin. When you say "nothing happens" what do you expect? Is GMic showing up in the advanced folder? What version of Windows and Paint.Net are you running? This is a start.
  9. Does this look like what you are trying to do? WatchFace by Andrew Donaldson, on Flickr 1. Spoked Wheel 2. Paste from Clipboard 3 times 3. Mirror left over right / Top over bottom 4. Add Layer and run the clock plugin. Make adjustments as necessary 5. Flatten image 6. Add gradients. Although the image is scaled down to allow posting, more detail could be added at each step.
  10. HeloStylize by Andrew Donaldson, on Flickr Signed up for a new Photo Hosting Site - Flickr New version of G'Mic used to stylize a simple shape into an oil painting. Nothing to brag about. Posted for testing purposes.
  11. @Ropey Welcome to the forum Have a read of this post and see if you find something that fills your needs.
  12. Hi @spanky Welcome to the forum. I don't believe Shapemaker has access to fonts. I do believe you need to draft the letter using the available splines. Have you had a look at this collection from another user using those types of symbols? Hope this helps
  13. Hi @docnich Welcome to the forum. Draw your lines with color of choice on a blank layer. In this case they would be white. Try @BoltBait's Bevel Object and select desired shadow colors in this case blue. You may have to do 2 layers to get the shading on both sides of the lines. Cut in half and merge the 2 layers. You may get other suggestions. Let us know if this works for you.
  14. First attempt at running plugin resulted in this error message. Not enough to crash paint though. Naming a subfolder "selfmade" may cause some concerns with other contributors and administrators. Let the debugging begin!
  15. Hi @Pixey Within the downloaded zip file you will see a folder called "gmic". This folder needs to be extracted to the effects folder as well as the DLL. Sounds like you may have missed it. Only the DLL file needs to be in the effects folder. Hope this helps
  16. practice, practice and more practice. Thanks @mackenzieh
  17. I tried the suggested tut as well and came up with this
  18. @null54 Look for the "Output as files" tick box and change output mode to New Image. Sequence/3D Elevation (Animated). Depending on the size and qty of frames the PNG files can take about ten minutes to generate (1024X1024X30).
  19. Thank you @Pixey And a Merry XMas to you too. Wonderful Painting. I consider the G'Mic plugin our XMas present.
  20. Hi @Bobi Look again at the drop down list of choices and you will see a percentage option to begin with. It just defaults to the absolute size.
  21. Maybe I need an education Think of when you draw a vertical or horizontal line. In my mind I thought they were the same. Here are the 2 gradients I create Back to art school 😁
  22. Great job @xod If you do make an edit, your labels for gradient horizontal and vertical needs to be switched. Not to sound nit picky
  23. Hi @mackenzieh PDB = Program debug database Helps the developer if there are any crashes. Place it in the same Effects folder. Happy Painting and Merry Christmas
