The_Lionhearted
Something I made this morning: Glassy! It's things like this that keep my interest in PDN from waning (and also cause all sorts of frustration when I can't fathom how it was made). Great job, Helio. usedHONDA
@Helio's bubble: It looks good, but it would look better if there was less blur on the edges. But unfortunately, it's impossible to fix that, now. jpope
Just for fun I've been working on making some real looking eyeballs. Am I getting close? Maybe, maybe not.... Got to playing around.... This turned into this
Inia
If you see a flat grey rectangular background, that's not me. It didn't show when I viewed the image in Firefox (what I use at home). However, IE (company standard) puts the grey in there no matter what the background color of the page it's posted on. I'm just a newb with no real art training, so it'll be a while before I can do any of the cool stuff I've seen here.

Helio
Yes, IE7 supports transparency well. If you are using IE and don't have 7, get it now! Personally, I have IE and Firefox, so... Those eyeballs are nice, jpope. I would try to soften the border between pupil and the iris, though. And make them look a little more glassy. I like it, Jettyy. Inia
Ah, thanks for the info! My company has that kind of stuff locked down pretty tight, so until they choose to upgrade to 7.0, I am stuck with the version currently installed (6.0.x). Since I don't use IE at home, so it's not something I pay much attention to. Guess I might have to put it back if I'm going to be posting more images. Extra
A 1280x1024 background I made. It only took me an hour because it is just a mix of polar inversion, glow, clouds, and a few other things. http://barak.lyons.googlepages.com/Ener ... 0x1024.jpg

The_Lionhearted
@Extra: Whoa! I think if I set that as my background my eyes would start hurting after a bit... @jpope: as has been stated, eyes look good, but imho I think the iris/pupils may be a tad too big...the uncanny valley may play a small role in it as well. Crazy Man Dan
Jpope: Those eyes are looking pretty good, no pun intended... One thing to remember though is that eyes are moist. Your specular highlight should be sharp and well defined. The blurred highlight they have right now gives them instead a soft matte feel. As far as texture, though, you've got it spot on. The_Lionhearted
This is not that exciting...I just felt compelled to share it with the group simply because of the massive amout of time it took to cut out the flower from the background to keep the color while b/w-ing everything else...
