The Brush Factory support Photoshop brushes file (*.abr) and you can download a bunch of brushes for free from Brusheezy.com. That website has plenty of grunge brushes for you to explore. -
Background Eraser Tool Request
TrevorOutlaw replied to ToxiicRaiinTV's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
IIRC, I think that is similar to Affinity, and I did download to try the trial period, but I just can't get into it. PDN is like my well worn jean, comfortable to use, and I can't get rid of PDN. -

Conical Rainbow Gradient?
TrevorOutlaw replied to KidBrine's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
This was done using pyrochild's Gradient Mapping Plugin. If you want, I can post you a video on how to acheive it. Quite easy. -
Background Eraser Tool Request
TrevorOutlaw replied to ToxiicRaiinTV's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
If you are talking about Photoshop's Quick Select tool, PDN doesn't have it. However, I do have a video tutorial of how you could get around PDN's limitation. -
All those years and I had no idea.

One thing I may have discovered by accident was how the opacity of the color appears to affect how much the eraser remove pixels from the image. When I was working on my Country House, I had left the color black at 25, and noticed the eraser took a long time to remove pixels. Then when I ramped it up to 255, the pixels were rapidly removed from the images. Had this been part of the eraser's ability?

Not really. The term is most likely "Photo Bashing." This is Matte Painting. No...I don't have any painting skill. -

Thanks to everyone who has commented on the final 2019 piece. New for 2020 and new challenge for me, matte painting, and I present to you Country House Matte Painting. -
@Creed31, you could also try Fibonacci Fill plugin. I realize it will not generate random rectangles you want, but if you think outside the box for a bit, you could use magic wand to select a rectangle generated by the Fibonacci Fill plugin, copy it, and paste it on a transparent layer. It would be worth exploring.

I think I figured out why the "closed" hand remain stuck as closed. While keeping the MMB depressed and scrolling up or down, the "closed" hand remain stuck. I have included the video that demonstrates this behavior. I have only noticed it by happenstance in 4.2.8. I cannot recall if this was an issue prior to current version. Here are my computer specs whilst bearing in mind I am utilizing Parallel running on top of iMac. @Rick Brewster, I have noticed lately how when using the MMB (Middle Mouse Button) to pan when zoomed in, after a while, the closed hand becomes "stuck" in closed hand even when switching tools, it stays stuck. By accident, I found that if I press the ESC key, it release the closed hand. I don't think it is related to what Pixey or the bug that was reported associated with the space bar. I just thought I would share what I have experienced.

Bye, bye, 2019. Stock and stock. -
font / text is blurred
TrevorOutlaw replied to Viper73's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Rick, this is a bit of an aside topic from the OP question, but for the drop down list of font size, would it be possible to replace the drop down list with slider? The slider can start at default font size of 10 and then user can adjust the size with the slider. -
While I may get in trouble for responding to a thread that is dead (read the rules on necroposting by the way), I have a tutorial that shows you how you can separate foreground object from the background. Look at the link below my signature.

Have you tried and look through the Plug-In and look for those you are describing? There are some that might work for you.

I really like this one. It's very calming to look at. Seem you have a knack for creating minimalistic abstract style. -

Not to hijack lynxster's gallery, but I would love to see what you have created. In fact, I am sure others would agree with me in encouraging you to open up your own gallery. -
This happened to me when I was having trouble with the Brush Factory not opening in the extended monitor window on my end, and when I reported it, I remember you trying to help me get that fixed. Once Joshua released another version, that problem disappeared. I was going to post my own thoughts anyway. I was planning to add a line where this would be up to the plug-in programmers to add those options, and they probably don't want to go through that trouble. It is not easy to add a few lines of code just to make you happy and BoltBait confirmed it. As I stated earlier, it is just easier to click and drag the window of the Effect, Adjustment, or plug-in windows to tweak with the setting. It is second nature and I don't think about it at all. If that bothers you, then...¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Manually Reseed Effects?
TrevorOutlaw replied to freestew's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Do you have a particular plug-in that you want to do that? Off-the-top of my head, only one that I can think of that does reseed would be the default Cloud effect.
