My fault nitenurse - I should have used 2 screenshots - will try to recreate and post more screenshots. Eli got what I was trying to show. Sorry Sasha and Seerose. Try the flag example. Download the flag and the grey texture and have them as two layers in Paint.net. Copy the grey layer then move to the flag layer and run the effect. I'm not very good at tutorials I'm afraid.

Good work on the chair TR! (thanks for posting the image and the settings). Your rotate/zoom method for the chair is more technically accurate but that image should give the user a good idea of what the recovered chair would look like. (Spent all my reps for today so awaiting 'bank of Pdn' quantative easing! , IOU +1)

I assume each 'tendril' would need to be a closed shape to get the tapering line. Ah TR has just posted - great result! Isn't the big problem that logarithmic spirals have to be depicted using bezier curves/splines or part ellipses when they would look better as real logarithmic spirals? {I think the violin type f hole shapes are done by varying the spiral angle along the length (did something similar in furblur).} And spirals aren't a part of xaml 'geometry'language (as far as I know, which is very little!)... but if Inkscape can do it, could the svg be imported into shapemaker? Would a spiral macro be incompatible with xaml?

Krita is free and works well with a Wacom bamboo tablet, so should work ok with surface pro? It has some clever dynamic brushes and layers can be exported as .png and manipulated in Paint.net. https://krita.org/

Hello PaintNewby, Welcome to the forum. The plugins on this forum have always been safe for me. However you a right to be cautious and I always virus scan anything I download ... even things I've uploaded! (force of habit). Do beware of downloading from other sites. Many plugin problems turn out to be due to people downloading from pirate sites. I recommend you keep watching the forum and get used to using Pdn without plugins for a while. You will then have more faith that the forum is trustworthy. I have just downloaded Dpy's plugin pack (containing Circle text) and scanned with Kaspersky... all safe. Note: 49,000 others have downloaded his pack safely too. Beaten by SkullB' and Max!

The Youtube videos by 'Pdning' are great. I believe he is 'Yellowman' on this forum, though he's not been active for a while. I should leave the Shapemaker Pdfs in the Effects folder, as that is where the effect expects them to be.

Personally I prefer the standard 'zip' file as '7z' files mean installing more software. Perhaps just use the normal zip when you add more shapes! (looking forward to seeing more )

I noticed something similar with the resoloution changing from 96.00 to 95.99 for no obvious reason? I just 'resized' it back to 96.00 but did not notice any change in appearance. I am curious as to the reason too.
