  1. I'm sorry Doughty, my mistake, I was sure it was you ... first signs of (me) getting older
  2. Helen - It's always encouraging to read your flattering feedback - Many thanks! Skullbonz - Thanks for commenting - I love your imaginative spacescapes!
  3. Good to see more of you on the forum again Doughty! Hope all went well with your calligraphy studies. Thanks for the compliment about the raging sea one - exactly what I had in mind. Time... yes it's a problem - I'm sure computers make almost everything take atleast twice as long! Still the paint is free and you can rub things out without going through the paper.
  4. Many thanks Pixey! - (I got a bit carried away with the middle one ) I'll do my best to get it into a useable form.
  5. Downloading. Seconded - not that you ever stopped! Sounds promising!
  6. Thanks Maximilian and Eli! (much appreciated). The cube and tetrahedron patterns use StringNpin for the main pattern. For the background tiling I used a plugin that I started ages ago but still haven't finished. It still needs a load of work doing to it - but I will keep you both updated. The planets/virus image started after creating the triangle texture for the 'square dents' thread - so thank you Eli!
  7. Still making patterns! http://i.imgur.com/P1MEcWd.png http://i.imgur.com/P2REacM.png http://i.imgur.com/unCXDCm.png
  8. 'Squirklewarp' can do concentric square ripples, if that's any use? (You'll have to do each set of square 'ripples' seperately though.) http://i.imgur.com/3vDMo95.png http://i.imgur.com/7y2SDy9.png
  9. Good results Eli! I like the interwoven tiling on the first one - not sure what Seurat would have said ... something French I guess
  10. You've got it now! Both images look good too.
  11. Good work on the photo-manipulation! Always good to see your newest works.
  12. Interesting effect Seerose - not a square distortion but beautiful in its own way! For the square distortion you need the flower image copied to the 'clipboard' (select and copy the flower layer). Then select the layer with the square pattern before running clipwarp.
  13. Hello RavenclawRules! As I understand Paint.NET 4+ will run on Windows 10. I hope so, as I intend to update too! Rick Brewster (the developer) talks about windows 10 here. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/31914-discussion-your-windows-10-upgrade-plans/
  14. Thanks for posting the cool image Eli! (I'll add a drop of whisky to that later )
  15. Try this: 1. Create a square gradient object and save it. http://i.imgur.com/HuzfDpF.png 2. Use TR's Random Custom Shape fill. http://i.imgur.com/9rdwt9V.png 2a. give it a small Gaussian blur. 3. Load your image (of the same size) onto the clipboard ie. select/copy, and run Clipwarp. http://i.imgur.com/xws7nk3.png original: http://i.imgur.com/nlH7dCo.png square dented: http://i.imgur.com/cWmTEEj.png Not perfect but room to experiment with other shapes! http://i.imgur.com/SFkddPh.png
  16. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/20622-psfilterpdn-2015-05-05/ ^That plugin can 'host' some P.S. plugins. Welcome to the forum
  17. I like the third one (Viridi Terra) - very unorthodox to have the planet right at the top - works well!
  18. Good images from all the sparkly contestants :trophy: :trophy: Thanks Chimay.
  19. Including some shine may be a good thing? I sometimes photograph oil paintings and getting uniform lighting is difficult. Have you tried photographing outside? natural light is often best. Plenty of light is good as it should allow you to reduce the aperture size and have a larger depth of field. But that's easier said than done on modern digital cameras! Perhaps a temporary matt varnish? - not sure that would be practical. Welcome to the forum too!
  20. Glad you find it useful Nitenurse! Thanks for commenting.
  21. Nice one Racerx! Sorry for the late reply, I've been staring at the animation for 3 hours Thanks for posting.
  22. Thanks Seerose! Clever use of layers to make more complex patterns.
  23. Thanks EER and Maximilian. The new options for repeated spiralA, spiralL and star needed some anti-aliasing along the hard edge between colour1 and colour2. I've added some, which is not 100% perfect but looks much better than none at all! - It wasn't easy.
  24. Useful info Midora! In the same place as the slide-rule and log tables? (I find it useful to set up a short cut to "Windows/System32/calc.exe".)
  25. Gradients Galore MAJOR update: I have added 6 new gradient shapes and generally improved the effect. I will eventually update my plugin pack to include the new version but in the meantime I've attached the .dll to the first post. It still works for Pdn 3.5.11. Here are some examples. Enjoy! http://i.imgur.com/TVBdNGk.png http://i.imgur.com/V4hQuAs.png http://i.imgur.com/TaTfk6A.png http://i.imgur.com/BtrRm3c.png http://i.imgur.com/PCvlTQi.png http://i.imgur.com/DrWY76R.png http://i.imgur.com/GXO7vGe.png http://i.imgur.com/huPf3nf.png http://i.imgur.com/O0XuDbS.png
