  1. Which pdf?? Have you tried the help files? Press F1 in paint.net to go online and see the documentation.
  2. Yup. It's probably the sampling mode. As Fuzzy has pointed out, there are now two modes. I think that the default is the new one - Sampling Once. With this mode, the color clicked on becomes the target for recoloring. Each subsequent click has the potential to select a new color. So this might be the problem. If you want the same functionality as PDN 3.5 use the Sampling Secondary Color mode. Sampling Once Sampling Once mode with the Left Mouse button recolors the color clicked on with the Primary color. Using the Right Mouse button recolors the color clicked on with the Secondary color. Sampling Secondary Color The Sampling Secondary Color mode is the same method of recoloring as seen in paint.net 3.5x. Using Sampling Secondary Color mode with the Left Mouse button, the Primary color becomes the replacement color. Pixels within tolerance of the Secondary color will be replaced. Using the Right Mouse button reverses the roles of the colors compared to the Left Mouse button.
  3. Excellent tutorial. How about showing how the effect affects the canvas (i.e. what it renders)? Can I also suggest a PDF version be made available?
  4. Start Menu > Computer (right hand sidebar) + Right click > Properties (alternatively Control Panel > System and Security > System) Under the heading "Windows Edition" does it say SP1 is installed?
  5. It would make the initial plugin entry much easier to create. Subsequent changes within the table would be ignored unless pointed out by the author. Like a menu change or renaming the DLL. My process is a manual compilation, not automated
  6. I had thought about making an info table mandatory for new plugins. Yours is very well laid out. Perhaps an example to the rest of us
  7. I've edited the thread title for you. Here's another tutorial you might find helpful. The technique is fairly simple, so the lack of images might not be insurmountable: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/16035-easy-but-very-impressive-glass-border/ Another: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/26780-how-to-make-a-glass-pane/
  8. Edit the thread title (it needs to be more descriptive), and someone might point you to a solution. Teasing hint: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/20938-images-in-panels-or-polyptychs/
  9. It was not an actual vote. Rick canvassed some opinions and made a decision to drop it. You have to admit that it was nice of him to ask.
  10. Try these two plugins. They update and add functionality to the default printing options. Printer+ Print It
  11. SP1 is a free update to Windows 7. Check that Windows Updates are enabled on your PC: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-NZ/windows7/products/features/windows-update
  12. Its in alphabetical order by location. Effects > Color comes before Effects > Distort. Within the menu they are ordered alphabetically by plugin name.
  13. You're confusing the resize with the view size. View size changes how large the image appears on the screen. Resize changes the pixel dimensions.
  14. What do you think of this? It's only 83kb and runs to 13 pages. Plugins by Location Mar 2015.pdf
  15. You've convinced me Fuzzy Nice arguments in your very thoughtful post. I'll whip up a list of plugins-by-location over the next couple of days. It will be functional. Not necessarily pretty. I'll use PDF format so it can be attached to the Plugin Index downloads area.
  16. The new Shapes tool has a speech bubble. Suggest you use that or try the speech bubble plugin
  17. Are you up to date with ALL the Windows updates? Some users have reported the same error only to discover that SP1 is not actually installed when they thought it was: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/30197-windows-sp1-or-newer-is-required-error/
  18. No, but that information is contained in the PDF/Ebook version of the Plugin Index. Can you convince me that your need for such a list is worth the time to produce it?
  19. What format are you saving it in? JPG does not support transparency. PNG does, so try saving it in that format.
  20. If the Shapes tool doesn't do it for you then Polygons is about as close as you're going to get. If neither is what you're after, how about providing an example? I am quietly working on a Shape plugin & Rick is working on an update of the Shapes tool. Be patient
  21. Unfortunately I've hit a roadblock. Temporary setback I'm sure. I'll keep 'yall posted.
  22. testing Some of the icons have been updated. I'll continue this work as time allows.
  23. PCX has been done: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=2135
  24. Use the plugin. It works by rounding or radiusing the sharp corners. You can set the amount or how much is removed. To install: Follow the blue link above to the plugin thread. Download the DLL from the link in the first post. If the file is zipped, unzip it. Move or copy the DLL file to to your paint.net/Effects folder. Restart paint.net. Find the plugin in the Effects > Fill sub menu.
