Pixey
@Sasha says it all ..... my impression was the same .... so eerie looking and macabre. Spooky too ...... HELEN
Awesome job on your gallery banner. I love the simplicity and cleverness of it. What you did with clipwarp--the umbrella, the London underground walkway, and airplane are great examples of the power of the plugin. Did you use Overlay to get the red color of the plane or did you just change the opacity? DrewDale
Thanks Sasha & nanettealsop & Helen, it is a very strange place along some of the unused lines and tunnels, I'm lucky to know someone kind enough to show me places that the public are not usually permitted, glad you like the image too. The roundel (london underground symbol) was straight forward to make, just an ellipse and a line. Helen - What I did was duplicate the original black aeroplane clip art, re coloured one red and unticked it. Ran object edge on the black one and then clipwarp. I then moved the red one to the top and I think it was either overlay or multiply, then just a once over with AA's Assistant. I used the same method with the red frame too I'm getting kind of clipwarp fever now, I look around at things to take a picture of so that I can add a twist to it
blackpenny
The London Underground image is so cool! It's great being able to go places regular people aren't allowed. Great banner too!
DrewDale
Thanks blackpenny, I'm pleased with the result I'm glad I was not alone in those old locations though, its pretty weird to be walking through an old railway station and hearing trains, but not seeing them. yellowman
Nice job on the Dead End, DD, you guys are doing some beautiful images with the clipwarp, I was just looking at Sasha's latest image, and had a feeling of looking through a tunnel, and now you have got that with your image, looks like it's a lot of fun to play with this plugin. barbieq25
Love Dead End! It is quite a confusing image, where it is hard to pick out the glass from the concrete. It's like the image is challenging the viewer - go in if you dare! What a great image! Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. DrewDale
Thanks yellowman - indeed clipwarp is a great plugin and very inspiring too, I end up looking for things to use it on, that picture was perfect for it. Thanks Helen - I kept the drop shadow really low so that the roundel would blend in more, I didn't dare go down that walkway though, even in daylight hours
Goonfella
I like Dead End. The glassy effect on the sign is great. Well done. Quote Please feel free to visit my Gallery on PDNFans And my Alternatives to PDN
DrewDale
Thanks Goonfella, I think the colour of the walls really made the image work, its an almost monochrome without been monochrome (if that makes sense?)
nitenurse79
Dead end is an amazing work DrewDale. The colours are really haunting and the glass roundel works perfect on this. I can almost sense the isolation in this image. Really nice result here
DrewDale
Cheers nitenurse, as soon as I saw the walkway I knew it was a clipwarp waiting to happen
nitenurse79
Your new creation looks like it could use a set of fan blades or a wire mesh? Looks good so far
minners71
Nice to see your new pieces Drew especially the clip warp ones ( umbrella is my fav ) Keep up the good work
DrewDale
@ nitenurse - That sounds like a good idea, I toyed with placing a grid of some sort in there, I didn't think of fan blades @ Minners71 - Thanks for that - I must say clipwarp is a very flexible plugin
Pixey
Another great effect with Clipwarp @DD - it could be the setting for a piece of bling . Love the glassy effect. P.S. Is it me or has the smiley Show All button on here just started to be a tool bar now? Or perhaps I never noticed one could scroll before Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. blackpenny
To me it looks like it wants to spin. Whatever it is, it's pretty cool.
HELEN
Yeah, it does look like it's going to spin. LOVE the color! DrewDale
Thanks Pixey, blackpenny, Helen. It does remind me of something to do with a motor, I don't even know what I was setting out to make It looked cool so I stopped where I was and posted it here
DrewDale
Thanks Welshblue, a stand would be a good addition, that's worth a try for sure
barbieq25
Love those Dyson fans but not the price. I like it the way it is. Glassy, shiny. For a WP, you could make the shape smaller & have single glowing line or even have a bit of fire background. It's really cool! I love the cameo piece. Great idea & well done! DrewDale
Thank barbieq. I do plan to add something else to that object, but I don't think I will add too much (it may spoil it then) The cameo piece worked a lot better with the removal of the full photograph background, I'm glad you like the result
minners71
Like the new clipwarp one.....................................but wonder how it would of looked if you kept the original background and turned it B&W or even into a pencil sketch ?
DrewDale
Nice idea minners71 - I tried a B&W version, but it lacked detail in parts of the house, the pencil sketch works great thanks for the idea.
