DrewDale Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks Sasha, Shinichi and Daniels, I'm always impressed at how I can make two images from one, just by using different blends, now if only I could give the turbine a subtle effect of it spinning Quote
barbieq25 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 The top one has the centre growing for me! WOW! I love the combination of colours too. Sweet! Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
HELEN Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I call these types of images "digital optical illusions" because when you move the page, they seem to move. Great job! I love the blue look. DrewDale Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks barbieq25 & Helen, I like the shades of blue used in my latest two also, nice and calming colour. I just scrolled the page to see the images move hypnotic effect Quote
DrewDale Posted March 29, 2013 Author Posted March 29, 2013 Love the depth of that first one. Again not a fan of the greens but that's just my taste ... the overall effect is great Cheers mate, of the two I do prefer the second one. Quote
RedBeard Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I could have sworn I had commented on your gallery before, but apparently, I was mistaken. Well, it's time to remedy that. You've got some very strong works here, Drew. I've been away from the forums for a while, so I'm a little unfamiliar with this ClipWarp thing (is that a plugin?), but I'm digging the results I'm seeing and you seem to make judicious use of it. I look forward to seeing more from you. Quote My Gallery
DrewDale Posted March 31, 2013 Author Posted March 31, 2013 Cheers Welshblue, I am of the same thinking. Thanks for the comments RedBeard, indeed clipwarp is a plug-in (a very good one too) here is the link to it with some great examples posted by forum members http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=25860 Quote
dug Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I think it has all been said above, two good clean pieces. It's great to see your understanding of the blend modes, for me, one of the best tools we have at our disposal. Nice work keep em coming. Quote MY GALLERYD.A.TheRawAtom
DrewDale Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Cheers dug. I do enjoy seeing the out come of blending modes, always amazed at what can be done with it. Quote
barbieq25 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Quirky image DrewDale but brilliant. Very nicely done! Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
HELEN Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Oh, I love that idea, Drew! It's so bubbly and just plain superb! Quote Don't spit into the well, you might drink from it later. -----Yiddish ProverbGlossy Galaxy Ball---How to Make FoliageMy Gallery PDN Fans--My DA
DrewDale Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 Thanks Barbieq25 and Helen. It was just a play around kind of creation really, I tried different backgrounds and the S3D was a last minute addition, appreciate the comments Quote
sashwilko Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Love the guitar / shape 3D combination Drew, It would make a great CD cover, nice zoom on the image too Quote
Daniels Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Loving the new image, Drew. The layers stacked up like that are really cool. Plus, it's ClipWarp and music, so...yeah. I like it Quote Logo/Banner Competition My Gallery
DrewDale Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Thanks Sasha and Daniels, glad you like the end product, just been playing around with Red ochre's new bevel object plugin too, an example is on page 1 Quote
sashwilko Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 The text on "life is a beach" is really nice Drew, it looks like metal. Liking the new sig too. Quote
DrewDale Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Thanks Sasha. I'm chuffed at how that turned out, the sig is also based on a heavily zoom/blur variation of the beach image. I can see some more addiction with a combination of clipwarp and bevel object now Quote
Daniels Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Very nice image, Drew. If only it were true, though BTW, I had to look up chuffed...silly American English doesn't have cool words like that Quote Logo/Banner Competition My Gallery
HELEN Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Drew, please no beach images right now. I've been wanting to go to the beach ever since summer ended. I miss it so much. Amazing image, by the way. It's beautiful and simple. @Daniels: Well, the American English language DOES have cool words, but no one really uses them for some reason. barbieq25 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Lovely outcome on this one! Well done Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
DrewDale Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 @ Daniels - We have some really splendid & spiffing words here that sadly hardly ever get used (its all street slang now unfortunately) Although Cockney rhyming slang is pretty neat @ Helen - After our long and drawn out winter I for one am looking forward to a paddle in the sea and a beach bbq this summer @ Daniels, Helen and Barbieq25 - Thanks for your feedback as always it is most welcome. barbieq25 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Just love your new sig. esp how the reflection is darker. 1 Quote Knowledge is no burden to carry. April Jones, 2012 Gallery My DA Gallery
DrewDale Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 Thanking you kindly Barbieq25. When I typed out the first layer of text, I made a duplicate of it, then un-ticked it, - did the clipwarp / Bevel objects treatment on the top text (using the original background image as the source) Then I used a heavy dose of zoom blur on the background image, made the duplicate text layer visible again, flipped it and ran clipwarp and Bevel objects on the zoom blur image (following the same settings as the top text layer) then just added some drop shadow to it. Happy you like the result 1 Quote
Lloyd Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I really dig how your using clipwarp here, the guitar is stunning and the beach one is a very inviting and fresh image, another great gallery. Quote
