LibbyH
I'm having the same trouble but I tried what sarkut said and it's not helping. any ideas? (and I do have the most recent version of paint.net) My Gallery
Sarkut
LibbyH, I suggest that you post about this in the Plugin Installation thread: HOW TO INSTALL PLUGINS Look in Utilities in the top menu of Paint.NET. See if there are any plugin load error reports. It would be helpful if you can post some screenshots. One showing the contents of your Paint.NET/Effects folder, with the full path showing in the Windows Explorer window. Another showing the Paint.NET Effects menu expanded. Another showing any plugin error reports. Post the screenshots here: HOW TO INSTALL PLUGINS Edited April 7, 2010 by Sarkut

LibbyH
Alright, I'm not sure if I fully figured out the problem, because I am still getting a different box, but I did get it to work. Thanks Sarkut for the help. Thanks Yellowman for the great tut! My first attempt. My Gallery

uvah
I am getting extremely frustrated. I'm doing the glass vase and in step 21......see screenshot This is what I get looking for it in distort...... Tut says goto...Effects\Octagonal\quad reshape\matte......not to look in distort. I looked everywhere. I do not have it and the EOE.dll although newer does not contain this plugin...help lease.
Sarkut
Effects\Octagonal\quad reshape\matte has been superseded by Quadrilateral reshape since the tutorial was written.
uvah
Thanks for the quick reply. This thing has got me going bonkers. I love working with PDN. I don't want anything going wrong with it. Now to see if I can finish this.
uvah
Okay....here's the quad rilateral reshape. As you can see in the various screenshots the values entered had no effect on the image. Note the history with the head layer selected. What am I doing wrong?
Sarkut
I think that you are working on the wrong layer. Also, you need to use the mouse to reposition the adjustment nodes in the corners of the plugin window. Those numbers that you have changed apply only to the Feather with radius option. yellowman
Thanks Sarkut and WelshBlue for helping. Uvah , if you read step 21 carefully, it says this plugin has no values (settings), the only thing is the feather and that won't change the shape, but look closely at the preview window of the plugin you will see 4 knobs (4 tiny circles), one on each corner, click on any one of those knobs and move it inside the window ( see the screenshot in step 21 and follow the green arrows), I hope is this what asking for, and sorry for the confusion. uvah
Very disappointing. Quadrilateral reshape does not work. Made no difference.Tried several values and nothing happened. No preview in the screen. Even with feathering...zero. This is what I got.
uvah
Don't I feel stupid now. Talk about something staring you in the face. I apologize for my rant. I see them now where as before I didn't take notice. Thanks for all the help and patience. I'm gonna go back and try again. Who knows...maybe I'll get it right this time...lol. johnnysdream
In typical Johnny fashion,I am of course 3 years late on this one but here it is.I'd like to point out for anyone who does this in the future, two things:1:you want to feather each step before merging.I did not and 2: instead of quadrilateral reshape(great plugin but does nothing here)use a plugin called Perspective.I didnt find it in the index.http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/16197-perspective-effect-v20-update-030510/ Edited April 30, 2014 by johnnysdream
WarpdriveGrafix
I really enjoyed doing this tutorial. Here is my effort including some personal tweaks to the color, base and the wood table is PdN-generated (not a photo paste-in).
barbieq25
Very nice outcome! I like the background too & the base with just the right amount of shadow etc. I really do like those subtle colours.
