  1. Yes. Find the drop shadow plugin here: KrisVDM's plugin pack Using it requires that your text is on it's own layer. I hope it is!
  2. My recommendations: 1. Larger text for the title & lose the italic slant. 2. Move the enlarged text away from the top (it's too crowded) and center it. 3. Padlock is the center piece of the image. It will need to be lowered to allow the enlarged title more space. 4. Lose the "a novel by". It's irrelevant IMHO.
  3. Just select the Auto option in the Save dialog. It's a quality thing
  4. Appreciate you're trying to help cathyhill, but this conversation is over three years old. Let's let it rest in peace <closed>
  5. I'm perplexed. The Fill tool is always very fast on my system using the latest version. Thousands of users here have not mentioned the tool being slow. I suspect that your system is either old, slow (or both) or that you are filling an extremely complicated and/or large selection. Please give us your system specs (Operating system, Service Packs, RAM, etc...,) and image size so we can try and diagnose the problem for you.
  6. Hello and welcome! The trick here is to resize the canvas. Think of the canvas as the surface you're image is drawn on, like a painting on a canvas. You'll find an option to do just this in the Image menu. For more information, hit F1 in Paint.NET to be taken to the online documentation.
  7. 400% - that would do both height and width. The other option is to manually calculate by taking your starting width and multiply that by 4. Type that into the Width box.
  8. You've got to be kidding me. It was the FIRST THING Paint.NET Developer Rick Brewster said to you in the very first reply you got in this thread. We're trying to help you here. Your part of the bargain is to listen to what people are telling you.
  9. No there isn't. The default tools are hard coded and unavailable for modification beyond their Tool Bar options.
  10. Hey spider999ish1 Welcome! To change the size of an existing image, go to the Image Menu and click on the Resize option. You will be presented with a dialog which will allow you to type in new dimensions, or to resize by a percentage.
  11. Don't forget about @pyrochild's Grid Warp
  12. Hi nerdiator - welcome to the forum. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to automate the numbering process. You'll have to do it manually. However it should be possible to create a great looking number surround, then use additional layers to store the individual digits. Toggle each layer on/off to hide/show the digit you want & save each as individual image files.
  13. Forum Rule #6. Please rename your thread Copy Cat Master.
  14. TIF support is minimal in Paint.NET as the format is old and well surpassed by better formats. I don't know why you were sold a photo in that format. That's like buying the ingredients to bake bread when you want a sandwich. If Paint.NET will not open the file, I would return to the seller and ask them for another file format. If that won't work you'll have to find another program to open the file & save it in a more useable format (PNG or JPG).
  15. We Mods & Admins (Rick included) read almost all the posts made on the forum. So chances are it wasn't any specific thing that drew the developers eye. The fact that Rick took the time to provide a lengthy answer probably means you post was intelligent, articulate & unique. Take it as a good sign
  16. Sound thinking on the translation issue! I hadn't thought of that.
  17. You need to read this thread: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/692-install-update-or-uninstall-trouble-read-this/ The 1603 error is specifically addressed in post #8. Try that solution.
  18. The reference to "hidden" was regarding the forum content - not the plugins. Post a screenshot of your Paint.NET/Effects folder so we can see the contents.
  19. If this question relates to the settings of the icon plugin, surely this conversation should be held in the Icon Plugin thread? <Merged two previous posts + this one>
  20. It this functionality wise? Why would a user need to move the location? I don't mean to be criticizing - just would like to know your thinking on this 'feature'.
