  1. Plugins cannot change the size of the selection. It's one of the rules that govern the paint.net plugin system. Find more examples of what can and cannot be done using plugins here
  2. From my ebook... Stringer, Scott (2012-09-27). Mastering Paint.NET 3.5.10 (Kindle Location 9254). Scott Stringer. Kindle Edition. So the resultant RGB value is found from The other blend modes are also detailed in the ebook.
  3. Hide the tab with the function keys as my previous post. The function keys would toggle the window or tab depending on which was showing.
  4. Really? (shudders) I don't like it at all. Sorry. I like this idea - with semi-transparent tabs to hide the windows. They wouldn't hog drawing space and would be very intuitive to use. This is pure eye-candy. The floating windows combined with F5, F6, F7 & F8 are easy to use as they are.
  5. It's been a GREAT discussion! Different viewpoints, intelligent argument (for and against) and a nice bunch of people who are continuing to impress me with their cool attitude and cooperation. With entrants like you guys the SOTW is bound to go from strength to strength. <group hug>
  6. Hi James. Try either View > Actual Size or Ctrl + 0 following the resize.
  7. Proposed rule #5 - remove the word "would". I also like NiteNurse's version regarding stocks and outside images. Other than that, I agree with the other rules as stated.
  8. IMHO the render is unnecessary. I liked it better without. It's very well constructed and quite beautiful.
  9. Stock sock @Red Ochre: Now that you've thrilled us all with Scribble and Cobweb - how about a Terragen clone so we can still say "100% PDN"
  10. I'm liking this Martin! It sounds complex, but with the presets it's a breeze to use and modify. An example - I recolored this image to make the knight look bronzed. Neat!
  11. Ace plugin my friend I'm reposting this image from the Development thread because I just like this effect so much. I zombiefied President Obama then Scribbled him. LOL moment - Background color > Red ochre
  12. Good argument Skullbonz. I feel that using say Terragen to create a landscape is effectively making a stock image and should be stated. Other users can assess the fairness of the use of Terragen or whatever other import was used when they vote. I see the competitions as a place to expand our abilities and techniques. I was introduced to both Terragen and Sculptris from other forum users. If we try to ban these people will just stop admitting their use. Let's encourage openness and honesty yes?
  13. We have no control over how an author chooses to release their plugin (grouped dll vs individual dll). We do encourage individual dlls but cannot insist on in. There appears to be is no working version of Cutout so we have no way to replace it unless illnab1024 chooses to release another version and/or update the plugin pack. You might want to download the pdf version of the Plugin Index. It contains more information on each plugin than the abbreviated forum entries. It's free
  14. Edit: here's a better link to browser support for apng: http://caniuse.com/apng
  15. How old is your copy of the Plugin Index? I ask because both Cutout plugins have been flagged as 'broken & obsolete' since April 2013. I have removed the redirection comment though as it was a bit misleading. This change will appear next month.
  16. @Chimay: png supports animation but some browsers do not animate pngs. It's only a blinking cursor
  17. Good idea. I'll flag it as obsolete/broken for the next release. Thanks for the information.
  18. Something similar is possible. You may have to do the black outline separately though.. 1. Choose your two colors as Primary and Secondary. 2. Activate the line tool 3. Increase the brush width to the thickness you wish 4. Change the Fill Type to one of the Wide diagonal types.
  19. Good points Chimay! 1. IMHO stock images SHOULD be attributed/linked. I think this is just fair - if you didn't make it, admit it. 2. If you do or don't like the use of renders - then VOTE accordingly (point #1 should make this easier). To try and ban them makes as much sense as trying to ban Rafael Nadal because he's a lefty.
  20. Hey Katzenfreund - I've done a little digging following your post! The plugin you've described (dated 15 October 2009) is version 2.0. It's an an update of version 1.2 which is in the Index, but was flagged as 'depreciated' because it pre-dated the one contained in the plugin pack. illnab1024 seems to have pushed out v2.0 via that thread without updating his plugin pack. So you're correct that v2.0 seems to be the latest. I have updated the Plugin Index accordingly. Note that I list only the release date of the plugin - not the version date. The date I use denotes when the plugin first appeared in public. Updates will always have later versoning/dates - I make no attempt to track these. Thanks for pointing this error out!
  21. It looks like the Cutout Effect is bundled with the other plugins in this pack and does not have a separate dll. There is no way to remove it without removing the other plugins.
  22. You appear to have found an exception. I try to keep the plugin index up to date with the latest version(s) of plugins. It looks like I've slipped up with Alpha Mask. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll flag this plugin for an update in the next edition of the index.
