  1. 1. Hold down the Shift key to constrain the angle(s) to 15 degree increments. 2. Again, the Shift key will make the line horizontal. Drawing vertical lines using the same trick will force them to be at 90 degree to the horizontal line. If this really doesn't work for you - get the alpha version of Paint.NET 4.0. It has a really cool shape tool with an option to draw a right angled triangle. Place this triangle on it's own layer and rotate until the base is aligned to a line tangentally touching your line at the contact point you want. The 90 degree angle will ensure the adjacent line is at a right angle to your line.
  2. I'd like to introduce you to my friend @Red ochre and his amazing ClipWarp plugin. What ClipWarp does is wraps an image in the clipboard around an object on a transparent layer. It's just what you need to bend the background image of your avatar around some foreground text.
  3. Welshy - keep taking those meds! That is ASTONISHING
  4. Add my vote. I like Lomography. Until then - Lomogrpahy added and MeasureSelection removed.
  5. I probably need to update my copy. Will do so later today and let you know.
  6. It's the older version of Conditional Hue & Saturation. I've posted the thread. Should I just remove this out of date attachment? Removed InkSketch - the error was a "built-in" warning. Removed KrisVDM's dll's. all were resolved with updates.
  7. Tis a preliminary list. Subject to change. I may need to simply update my version of GB+.
  8. 'Twas a dark and stormy night.... Very nice tutorial Red Ochre!
  9. Welcome to the forum Gustavojose! You can make the base button for the Prussia/Canada types with this plugin: Buttons Then on a new layer, insert your artwork. I used a symbol from the WingDings font - placed in the new layer with my WhichSymbol+ plugin (link in my signature). Finally I added a light shadow with this plugin Drop Shadow. For the type with the radial lightrays as a backdrop (Vandal Axeman) - try running this plugin on a new layer then cropping to the button edge LightRays. To enhance this layer I blurred and reduced the opacity. Assembling the icon:
  10. Hey Rocky532 - welcome to the forum Woah! That's a nice map! The coloring of the land masses could be just a little lighter - however it's still an excellent piece. Impressed. +1
  11. It's a zipped file. Unzip it then move or copy the *.dll files to your Paint.NET/Effects folder. Do not try to open or run the *.dll files. More information: https://boltbait.com/pdn/InstallingEffects.php
  12. Nice job. It's a fun technique. All that layer duplication and flipping For those of you who want to try this, my technique is to work on the left half of the image only. To make the right hand side, duplicate the left layer then flip vertically and horizontally.
  13. You can't enlarge by ay large amount without incurring pixelization - which you see as blurring. You could try running Effects > Photo > Sharpen to minimize the blurring. Using percents: just type them into the resize dialog. There is a place near the top where you can input them.
  14. There are a number of ways to replace one color with another. As you are already familiar with Adjustments > Black and White, use that first then recolor Black with the Recolor Tool as I explained here: Click Me.
  15. +1 Great idea for a competition.
  16. Heart-stopping moment. I thought for a second you meant I had left Simon out of the Index
  17. A few minor changes to the Plugin Index for 2014... 1. I've had to break the Author list into three parts. Previously two. I blame @TechnoRobbo for his horde of recent plugins 2. To help negotiate the extra length of the Index, a table of contents appears in the first post. 3. A couple of posts by other users had to be deleted to make space and keep the listing continuous. If it was one of your posts - sorry about that. It's all for the greater good and the ends justify the means
  18. Hi freewayman - welcome to the forum! The tool you want is already built and included in Paint.NET. It's called the Recolor Tool Usage: 1. Set primary color to the Hex code for the color you want to end up with. 2. Use color picker tool to select the color in the image that you want replaced. Set this color to the secondary color by picking the color using the right mouse button. 3. Wind the brush width up to 80 or something large like that. 4. Wind the tolerance down to around 20% 5. Cover the image in sweeping movements of the mouse with the left button held down. See http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/27224-change-a-color-of-one-item-in-a-photo/?p=398511 Online documentation: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/RecolorTool.html
  19. Save it as a GIF. GIFs have an 8-bit palette Once saved you can reopen the image and use Save As to change the file format. Alternatively there is this plugin which allows you to specify the color depth Low Color Filetype.
  20. By bouncing ideas off each other we're all growing and learning. This is part of the beauty of this forum. I can't ever remember finding a nicer bunch of people on-line....and now you're a part of it too Ishi
  21. January Update - Happy New Year! Four new plugins to kick the year off! New Clipwarp - @Red ochre. A new version of the Clipwarp plugin (this has a simpler interface). Use it to mimic glass, create metallic distortions. Has smoothing and some fun colouring options. Switch Color to Alpha - @AnthonyScoffler. Sets the transparency of each pixel equal to the intensity of it's color. TR's FireWorks - @TechnoRobbo. Create star bursts and skyrocket type explosions. TR's PseudoSnap - @TechnoRobbo. Align an object (must be on a transparent layer) within a configurable grid. In other words it makes the object snap-to-grid
