  1. Yes. Not for a screen capture. Yes if you want to throw the results at a printer. Unknown. What quality do you need? BTW: Paint.NET can't vectorize it. Paint.NET has been going for 18 years. Relax.
  2. There currently isn't a plugin that can do this. Your best bet is tiling a speech bubble shape onto one layer then adding text onto a layer above. PRO-TIP: you can use decimals in the font size to assist with the spacing
  3. If you want the really simple solution - take the image size you want to end up with (in inches) and multiply those dimensions by 400. That gives you the image canvas size in pixels. PRO-TIP: Make your canvas the correct size before you start designing the image. E.g. a 6x4 inch photo printed at 400 DPI.... => 6x400 by 4 x 400 => 2400px by 1600px With this solution you can safely ignore all future references to the DPI. Yep. It's a lot larger than to expect.
  4. Hi @ballmouse - welcome to the forum. Here's how I would manage this.... Do one fill on each of two layers Delete the white on the top layer (Magic Wand then Delete key) Move the top layer a few pixels right and/or down to offset the dots Flatten the two layers.
  5. Hi @rowski - welcome to the forum Make sure you have no selection active (press Ctrl + D). If there is one - the shape will be restricted to inside the selection (usually somewhere else than where you want it)
  6. Hi @YoYoSiwa - welcome to the forum Some internet images fake the appearance of transparency using an actual grid of gray & white squares. Is your image one of these? (Feel free to upload it as long as it is family-friendly).
  7. Really? Did you follow @Pixey's solution above Rick's post? That is the accepted solution around here, so do try it. If it fails - please report back here
  8. April Update Just the one plugin this month. A re-release of otuncelli's PDF filetype plugin (which made it's way out of the primordial ooze that is the Plugin Developers forum and parked itself in the public eye). Actually, that happened back in February - but I missed it As an aside - the Plugin Index now has 1103 entries 🤯 Portable Document Format otuncelli File type plugin for opening/saving PDF (Portable Document Format) files. It also has ability to import Adobe® Illustrator® Artwork (.ai) files saved with PDF compatibility option. Source code available.
  9. I had an Atari STFM. I manually soldered 512kb of memory into it to bring it up to 1meg. I was the envy of my friends! I loved that Atari. It had something called STOS basic. Even learned to program it in 68000 machine code I'm definitey an 'old school' gamer. Curreny playing my way through Heretic (a DOOM clone in a medieval setting) on the DOOM box.
  10. This image was assembled some time ago for the main panel on my DOOM Box. I updated the image by adding my username as the fifth difficulty setting https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/15250-video-gaming-thread/?do=findComment&comment=589939
  11. I can't claim any of these images. They are all ripped from the game DOOM/DOOM2. The last difficulty setting was generated using this: https://c.eev.ee/doom-text-generator
  12. More cool keyboard and mouse tips can be found here: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/KeyboardMouseCommands.html#2
  13. <I split this post into it's own thread> Is this ^^ the full-sized image? If so - there are parts of the dividing lines which are not transparent. This is probably why the Magic Wand is failing (that and the clear border which can be easily cropped out).
  14. The administration has stopped him in his tracks. Game over man.
  15. @HyReZ and @BobGrey - stop sniping at each other. I mean it.
  16. I didn't read far enough At least I was on the right track
  17. Are you up-to-date with the latest version of Paint.NET? Check the version in the top left corner of your screen.
  18. Isolate the object on it's own layer, then Use one of the Outline plugins to thicken the edge to approx double or triple thickness. Repeately use Effects > Noise > Median to slim it back down. The edge will smooth out along the way (you can also use AA's Assistant to thin down the edges). Repeat the above two steps if you need more smoothing. Option 2: I've an egg shape in my Shapes pack - https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/32128-eers-miscellaneous-shapes/
  19. The Plugin Browser can bookmark plugins.
  20. There is probably a behind-the-scenes metric in the forum software which excludes inactive accounts.
  21. It's fairly easy to learn the codes you need, Alt+0169 = © for example. Here's an easy lookup table https://altcodeunicode.com/
