  1. To find the plugin (once installed) in paint.net, look in the Effects > Object menu.
  2. Done. Disagree. CSV stands for comma separated values - so hexcodes are entirely valid in a CSV file.
  3. Color channels. Red, Green, Blue & Alpha. You can replace X with a set value (allows you to set the alpha value manually). The CSV plugin transcribes rows starting from the top left. You can specify rows by adding a linefeed at the end of the row. E.g. this structure... Gives this output The size of the output should match the image dimensions. ^this demo image was a 32x32 pixel icon.
  4. My CSV filetype plugin could be useful here. Copy your selection to a new image, then save it as a *.CSV file based on the color format/structure you want. You'll have to do the sorting yourself (tip: load the CSV file into Excel or a Google sheet).
  5. For those wondering about this bit.... ....if you're using a shape as a map-mask, soften the edge to get a more organic coastline. Otherwise the falloff from land to sea will be too abrupt. In the images below, notice how the hard Eastern edge of the shape produces a cookie-cutter coast. The softened Western side of the shape produces a more meandering coastline with a much more believable slope from the highlands down to the sea (and also light blue shallows). >>> The deeper the alpha blurring is, the gentler the taper from land to sea. See?
  6. 👍 To get a more organic coastline, use dents at a largish scale to distort the mask outline, then run Gaussian blur to smooth it out.
  7. I just remembered @John Stewien's plugins are open source. Yay, because I lifted the ToAngle code from him. Here's the source
  8. Here's a plugin I've been tinkering with for years. It makes simple maps at the touch of a few buttons. If you want a specifically shaped map, you can use transparency to mask the land & sea. Once installed, find the plugin in the Effects >> Render submenu. Please note: The code is not all my own. I'll ask for permission to post it. Comments &/or critiques welcomed ReliefMapGenerator.dll
  9. Hi @caitikitty welcome to the forum. You're using the backspace key. It fills the selection with the Primary color. Use the Delete key to erase
  10. Change the MPO file extension to JPG and paint.net will open it without problems. Reason:
  11. Making the A... Set Primary color = green Set Secondary color = blue Add a new layer with Ctrl + Shift + N Shapes > Triangle. Drag one out with the Shift key held down. Duplicate the layer Use Fill tool and right mouse to recolor the second triangle blue. Activate the magic wand tool In the blue triangle layer, select the background with a low tolerance, then invert the selection with Ctrl + I Press M twice. Move the selection to the right using the keyboard arrow keys (count how many time you hit the keys). Press Delete. Repeat steps 8 to 10 in the green triangle layer, but move the selection to the left the same number of steps before deletion. Set the top layer blend mode to MULTIPLY. Activate the magic wand tool and set the Sampling mode (in the toolbar) to IMAGE Select the overlap. Use Adjustments > Hue/Saturation: Hue 89 | Saturation (default) | Lightness -50 If you take more time than I did you can get cleaner edges - but the basic technique is solid
  12. Another feature you might find helpful - the paint.net documentation can be translated into a number if different languages, including German. Look for the Translate selector on the top right of each page
  13. circumference = rectangle perimeter? radius = short side of rectangle ....do you mean Diameter = long side of rectangle? School Trig: circumference of a circle = 2PiRadius or PiDiameter Your short side will need to be perimeter/2Pi Is this a math problem or are you transforming an actual image?
  14. Set up your configuration, then open Settings > Tools and hit Load from Toolbar. This will make your current settings the default ones. https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/SettingsDialog.html#3
  15. September Update Three new plugins this month. Enjoy Bit-Plane Shuffler Reptillian Shuffle the images bit-planes. Has the effect of introducing a radically different palette. JPEG XL null54 Allows JPEG XL images to be loaded and saved using libjxl. Due to limitations in the libjxl version 0.6.1 API, EXIF and XMP metadata will not be loaded or saved. Source provided (MIT License). PSX TIM null54 Allows Paint.NET to load the PSX TIM format. Supports loading the 4-bit and 8-bit, 16-bit and 24-bit formats. IN DEVELOPMENT. Source provided (MIT License).
  16. Did you redraw the image on the larger canvas, or stretch the original to match the new size? Try printing this image out at the required size and see if it works for you. https://i.postimg.cc/D0mFxtmf/Minnesota.png
  17. Dang. I never knew I needed them until I saw this ^ screenshot. Yes please
  18. When creating a new element, put it on it's own layer. Truly. You should be using Ctrl + Shift + N so often it becomes second nature
  19. HI Nordy, welcome! Your source image is very small @212px x 337px. This is probably what's giving you a poor print quality. If you want the stated print size, make the image dimensions match at 300-pixels=per-inch: 2.21 inches x 300ppi = 663pixels wide 3.37 inches x 300ppi = 1011pixels high. ^ Start with a canvas of that size, minimum.
  20. BoltBait's Creative Text Pro also has some pretty shiny effects...including an apply from clipboard option.
  21. You want to make a selection then use the arrow keys (you can add the Ctrl key for larger movements). NB Cut erases the selection.
  22. Shape 3D uses the active layer. I'm not sure what you're asking when you say... Try a basic patten to see how the plugin wraps the image.
  23. Have you tried the Shape3D plugin? It has a number of mapping options for spheres
