@jake2k - They all look good, unlike me you have both analog and digital talent. Me, I can't draw all that well so I'm completely digital. If I could tear myself away from PDN long enough maybe I'd practice drawing more...

This work was conceptualized while listening to "By My Side" by Kasabian.

I make new background!

I decided to try out the Waves Tutorial. I was rather intrigued by the results others had posted, so I wanted to try! A rather nice tutorial that one. I added some glow, a message pane, and wrote a haiku inspired by the result. :D

And jake:

It seems your digital art style takes quite a few points from your hand-drawn art style. That is to say, those up there look great as well. :)

@jpope: those orb/bubbles are great!

very nice CMD, i like the "icons here, yo" part haha.

As for my hand drawn art, i didn't start drawing "tech" stuff until after i learned how to do it on pdn ;)

I like keeping my Desktop clean and uncluttered, which starkly contrasts the rest of my life...

I usually design an area where I can place my icons where they are easily discernible. That way, I can find them without having to pick them out of a background. In cases such as this where the whole image is background, I'll put in a translucent bar. For some reason or another, I decided to label this one. I usually find that my icon bars get labeled if the background is created after 2am...

As for your drawings, it would seem I had the order reversed. Nonetheless, my complement still stands. :)

I know how you feel. Although since I started using Paint.NET my desktop has gone from having about 5 icons to now around 40! I just haven't been bothered cleaning it up lately. It's full of projects with Paint.NET and things for my new site. I even have a corner on my desktop for all of the awesome icons I have made with a plugin :D

I used to have the same problem. When I need an image from the internet, or just need a quick place to save something, I click the Desktop button under the Places column of the default Windows Save dialog, and pretty soon, my Desktop is covered with random stuff.

I did find a way to remedy this, though. I created a folder on my Desktop labeled Desktop - TBS (TBS here meaning To Be Sorted). I throw everything in there instead of directly on the Desktop, then sort it about once a month. This way, I only have three icons on my desktop: a shortcut to my storage partition, the Desktop - TBS folder, and the Recycle Bin.

Yikes, Aatwo! I would go mad if I had that many icons!

Three words: Desktop Cleanup Wizard. That'll help. ;)

Oh, and if I may ask, what is the folder labeled 'hair' for?

I like the b.g., CMD. Very smooth and cool. I should get into making backgrounds, it looks like loads of fun.

That's it for now, I've only been using P.Net for about a week and a half now, have to like it :)
