Animated Image 2.4 - AGIF & APNG

You need to start with a fresh copy of the animated GIF,

rename it to .agif then open it.

========================================================

So, start with the new copy, drag the file onto a blank web-browser page

to be sure the animation is working, rename the extension to .agif,

then open in Paint.NET.

Or just Firefox or Opera.

Attached is a ZIP file containing a renamed animated GIF. What happens when you open it in Paint.NET without renaming it?

When I open the pluginfade thingy it is seperated in in frames. But that doesn't happen when I rename a normal gif to .agif format..

Maybe I used the wrong image? I don't know..

EDIT: Ah, I was right.. I DID use the wrong picture. I tried another .gif and renamed it and it worked. :) So I guess my problem is solved.

ummm..

i dont know if this question

was already asked nd answered in previous replies..

but hope you can answer it again

or please post those answers

(especially important questions)

in the 1st page so that

you wont answer it over nd over again.

im having trouble renaming my previously made gif from .gif to .agif

(IDK if there is a issue in previously made png from .png to .apng

i havent tried it yet)

is there an another way to rename it?

another thing..

those the latest version of this plug-in

let your frame disposal can either be..

replace (show one layer per animation?)

or combine (cumulative layers per animation?)

or this feature isnt available yet?

i just want to make an animated png that can let you

replace each frame with transparent spot using Paint.NET.

(as far as my animated gif png version copy it only let me do combine disposal)

wait ill try to attach an sample animated gif with transparent spots..

(im using a different editing software for this one)

this is the replace disposal sample..

replaceblue203x38v05m01.gif

this is the combine disposal sample..

combineblue203x38v05m01.gif

paint.NET sample..

blue203x38v0501testing001.gif

(hope i did express my issues correctly nd accurately)

(clarified the terms that i use nd updated my terms)

(BTW im using Windows Vista)

thank you in advance

Hi,

Like the animation tool... good work.

If there a way to get .apng to sequence through the images the way an .agif does?

The gif steps through the frames and the png layers the frames.

Both of the attached images were generated from the same .pdn and both have transparent backgrounds.

I have attached a zip file with the two images.

clues?

Thanks,

Kent

  • 1 month later...

I like the plugin, but it turns transparency to black, pretty much making it useless half the time for me, and then I have to copy and paste each frame to GIMP if I've made the image in Paint.net.

Would absolutely love it if this could support saving with transparencies.

I am having problems getting the quality I want.

With agif I run into the color limits.

With apng I run into a problem where I have to reduce the size to about 150x112. If it is any larger it will not load into a viewer. Is there a size limit for a apng?
