  1. For Vista: Follow the Windows 7 directions, except in Step 3 left-click to Preview. Next, close the Preview window, then right-click the font file > Install.
  2. Pinky, Need more information, what white color where? What are you trying to accomplish specifically?
  3. rustman52, Try running this first- Program Files/Paint.NET/PdnRepair.exe Then reboot your PC.
  4. Cydneywithac, Just copy/paste it into your Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects folder. It doesn't need to be extracted.
  5. Stock Image - http://www.pdphoto.org/jons/external/A0 ... CD0Cbg.jpg ====================================================
  6. myoriah, Here's another possibility. This was done Clone Stamping from black-and-alpha and white-and-alpha texture layers onto clear layers above a background. Reducing the Transparency - Alpha setting in the Colors window gives a soft-edged look to the brush stroke, as well as reducing the opacity of what is applied. http://www.LupiUpload.de/images/2010/02 ... b6419b.png
  7. If you are installing the HD Photo plugin it goes in the File Types folder, not the Effects folder. After it is installed, it will show as an option in the Save As... dialogue.
  8. Download Simon Brown's plugin pack. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30524 Left-click the zip, then open the folder inside named Effects. Copy/paste all files to the Paint.NET/Effects folder with Paint.NET closed. Open Paint.NET - There should now be a Tools sub-menu in the Effects drop-down.
  9. tobibeer, I recognize that you would prefer these to be features of Paint.NET. ================================================ For anyone interested in work-arounds - To have the area outside the selection be masked while positioning to crop: First decide on an area that you know will be excluded from the crop. Make a new layer and fill it with white. (Or whatever color you prefer) Make a tiny Rectangular selection in the area to be excluded and press Delete. Magic Wand inside the deleted rectangle, then activate the Move Selected Pixels tool. You can move the selection, resize it, and change its aspect ratio, while the area outside the selection remains blocked from view. When it looks right - Crop to Selection.
  10. Those four error messages can be ignored. The Ed Harvey download zip should contain two files: EdHarvey.Edfects.Common.dll EdHarvey.Effects.dll
  11. Actually, if you are working with only two layers, you can shift which layer is active, too. Assuming both layers are visible to start: F4 + Tab + Spacebar + Enter + Ctrl Z This will change the working layer and leave both layers visible. You need to remember to go mouse-button-up before doing the keyboard layer change, but the mouse cursor will remain in place if you have been holding the mouse in mid-air.
  12. dpipkens, You could try this freeware program: GML-Undistorter To correct for fisheye it needs a few passes at focal length settings of around 1 - 4. It seems to prefer .jpg filetype. There's a noticeable loss of sharpness. http://www.LupiUpload.de/images/2010/02 ... 4c75f2.png
  13. rustman52, Try downloading again using a different browser. The Ed Harvey zipped file isn't inherently damaged, as I have just downloaded it and installed it. It works fine on my PC. It opened easily by left-clicking.
  14. rusty52, Download Ed Harvey Effects by left-clicking this link: http://www.komplex.com.au/edfects/downl ... 080826.zip Download to your Desktop, then left-click the zip (no PeaZip) to open it. If both files are there, copy/paste them into the Effects folder. ======================================== I feel quite sure that the tutorial mistakenly directed you to a plugin that would show up in a Tools sub-category. The plugin you need has a similar name and is in its own sub-menu (Not in Tools). This is the one that you need: Alpha Mask Import viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2178 The lowest red outline shows where Alpha Mask will appear when installed. http://www.LupiUpload.de/images/2010/02 ... 0bb722.png
  15. oblachubs, I don't know enough about spritesheets to know whether this will help. It has a Draw Grid option that could be applied to a transparent layer and used as a selection template for the Magic Wand.
  16. fetticini, Can you download other zipped files from other (non-Paint.NET) download links OK? Have you tried using a different browser to download?
  17. rustman52, For problems with plugin installation it is best to post in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2023 The following may be relevant to the difficulties you are experiencing. Please say what version of Paint.NET you are using. The latest version is v3.5.3. Also, what OS version are you using? (XP, Vista, etc.) What OS Service Pack level do you have installed? Are you fully current on Windows Updates? Look in Utilities in the top menu of Paint.NET. See if there are any plugin error reports. It would be helpful if you can post some screenshots. One showing the contents of your Paint.NET/Effects folder, with the full path showing in the Windows Explorer window. Another showing the Paint.NET Effects menu expanded. Another showing any plugin loading error reports. ================ How to post images: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26979 http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/

  19. beko, Use the Ellipse tool as suggested by Mike Ryan, place each circle on its own transparent layer. Run the Align Object effect on each layer to position the circles perfectly relative to each other. Merge the two layers. Align Object plugin: HOW TO INSTALL PLUGINS Add New Layer: Layers Window
  20. Try downloading the zip to the Desktop, left-click to open (no WinRAR), then copy/paste the DLLs to the Effects folder. Best to do this with the Paint.NET program closed.
  21. Keyboard shortcut to change visibility of the working layer: F4 + Tab + SpaceBar ( Pressing SpaceBar more than once will toggle visibility on and off.) If you are working with only two layers, you can shift which layer is active, too. Assuming both layers are visible to start: F4 + Tab + Spacebar + Enter + Ctrl Z This will change the working layer and leave both layers visible.
