  1. Actually, now that I check, it applies only to my Paint.Net v.3.36 setup. In the current version, it looks squashed in the brush list, but applies as a brush without distortion.
  2. Yeah, actually regardless of how you make the image, the canvas aspect ratio is what's important. So, if I open PDN with a default 800 X 600 canvas I need to crop to 600 X 600 before saving or the brush will look squashed-in sideways in use.
  3. Be sure that the image used as a brush is on a square canvas. The brush tool will treat it as square and squish it otherwise.
  4. FishEda, Would printing the bar code onto self-adhesive labels, then transferrring to the black card be workable?
  5. Paint Bucket, I just downloaded, wasn't asked for money. The plugin files in your Load Error report are outdated. Edit: Glad you got it working.
  6. Wylie, You could put a layer filled with your background color below the working layer, and merge when you've finished all of your work.
  7. Tzvi, Try this: Run PdnRepair. Program Files/Paint.NET/PdnRepair.exe Reboot your PC, try Move Selected Pixels tool again.
  8. Here is some info on layers. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/WorkingWithLayers.html
  9. Okay. I think the way it works is that the degree of Opacity determines the degree that the blend mode is in force at a given pixel coordinate. Where the Opacity is zero on either layer, the multiply blend mode is rendered null. Wherever zero opacity is present on either layer Normal blend mode is in effect. The amount of transparency apparently multiplies also. If each layer is at 50% transparency, when merged in multiply mode they will have 25% transparency. When both start with 80%, they have 64% when merged with multiply blend mode.
  10. ThumpieBunnyEve, Look in the plugin section for: Evan's Effects v1.7 (December 4, 2009) Octagonal quad reshape Perspective Effect (Beta v1.1 update 02/16/'10) Perspective pyrochild plugins (2009-12-06) Smudge Point Warp / Engorged smudge plugin (ydm080101) Point Warp
  11. Go here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/7291- Then click on Download from box.net at the top of the page.
  12. Get that Paint.NET.Effects.dll out of there. It doesn't belong in the Effects folder.
  13. Copy where it says Direct Link and paste into your forum post. No [/img] tags needed.
  14. Okay. Re: Extracting the zip - Simply left-clicking, then copy/paste to the Effects folder is best. Sometimes an extraction program will corrupt the file, Alzip in particular has been a problem in the past. Pls. open your Paint.NET/Effects folder, so that the plugin files are visible. Make a full-size screenshot including the Windows Explorer window address box showing the full path to the Effects folder. Upload to ImageShack and post the direct link here. ========================= http://www.take-a-screenshot.org/
  15. Well, something is not as it should be. A few questions- What OS version are you using? (XP, Vista, etc.) What OS Service Pack level do you have installed? Fully current on Windows Updates? What Paint.NET version? Current stable version is v3.5.3. What did you extract the .dll with? In the top menu: Utilities > View Plugin Load Errors Any reference to Grim Reaper?
  16. If Paint.Net was open when you installed the.dll, then close and re-open the program.
  17. Clear your browser's cache and re-download the zip file. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sour ... 0&aql=&oq=
  18. The download zip should contain one file: GrimColorReaper.dll Once installed, it will show in the top menu: Effects > Color > Grim Color Reaper
  19. Good point. I'm sure someone knows the answer. In the meantime I will regard it as simply being the will of Vishnu.
  20. This is my best guess. It seems that what is being multiplied with Multiply blend mode are the RGB numbers.. The Alpha channel is separate from the calculation. The Color Picker tool shows Alpha as R255, G255, B255 (white), so it multiplies as white. White is 100%, or one. 1 X 1 = 1 White X Alpha = White
