  1. Understand that when you give the Copy command there is no visible result. It merely stores the Text Mask in the Windows clipboard. The clipboard image is then used by the Alpha Mask plugin at Step 9.
  2. You can also use the menu. Edit > Select All Edit > Copy
  3. After copying, use the Alpha Mask plugin effect.
  4. Select All the black-and-white Text Mask layer. Ctrl + A Ctrl + C
  5. You can install all of them, or only the ones that you want. In any case, pyrochild.effects.REQUIRED.dll should always be installed.
  6. In the Colors window, click on More>>. Adjusting the Transparency - Alpha slider of the Primary Color will adjust the opacity of the cloning.
  7. 1 - You can't Clone Stamp from one file to another. Import the layer you want to clone from into the file that you want to clone to. 2 - Save and name the file you are working on (but don't close it). Then open the file as a second instance of itself, and save with a different name.
  8. There is a Tolerance slider in the toolbar. Perhaps increasing the tolerance will do what you want.
  9. There is no auto-save. Last item in his link: Most likely a memory problem.
  10. That may be the Pixel Grid. Check the View Controls section of this link: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/Toolbar.html
  11. Al Zip is known to cause corrupt file problems.
  12. This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download Pictures Side-By-Side / "Before and After" Images This question comes up in the GD&Q fairly often. 1- Open your "Before" picture with paint.net. In the Status Bar, set the Units to Pixels The pixel dimensions of the image are shown in the Status Bar (800x600 in the image above). Take note of the image size. Click on the Image menu =================================== 2- Click on Canvas Size =================================== Be sure that there is no checkmark beside Maintain Aspect Ratio (tip: click the checkmark to toggle it on/off) Double the Width (example: 800 X 2 = 1600). Type this number in to the Width value box. Note: if you want a border to appear between the two images, add the width of the border to the calculated Width value (example: 800 X 2 + border 40 = 1640) Select Anchor - Left Click OK to accept these parameters. =================================== 3- Import the "After" image, using Layers > Import From File This will bring the "After" image in as a separate layer above the first (Before) image. The "After" image will be selected and the Move Selected Pixels tool activated following the import. =================================== 4- Use the mouse to move the "After" image to the right (click and drag it). To make fine adjustments, or if you don't have a steady hand, use the keyboard Arrow keys to move the After image. =================================== 5- Once the second image is positioned where you want it, use File > Save As... Save as whatever file type you want. This tutorial shows how to place two images equal in size next to each other. If the images are of different pixel dimensions, you may want to resize and/or crop the larger image before starting.
  13. Line/Curve Tool http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/LineCurveTool.html
  14. That will set the program that will open a file. How to have a different program respond to Right-click > Edit, is still an open question.
  15. This is another option: Layers > Import from File
  16. This will work for a one layer image. Duplicate the layer. Next: Image > Canvas Size Maintain Aspect Ratio - No checkmark Width and Height - 500 pixels Anchor - Middle OK Next: Delete the bottom layer Rotate the layer content: Ctrl + A With Shift key down, use the Move Selected Pixels tool with right mouse-button. Three increments of rotation will be 45 degrees. Using the Magic Wand at zero tolerance, click the alpha near the canvas edge. Invert the selection: Ctrl + i Crop to selection
  17. The Transparency plugin is part of the BoltBait plugin pack. Once installed, it will show in the Adjustments menu. Move the slider to the right, towards Opaque.
  18. I believe that "seeding" is now the Randomize button.
