  1. There is the online Help documentation. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/index.html It can be downloaded with this program: http://www.httrack.com/
  2. There are several color pickers available, here's one: http://www.iconico.com/colorpic/
  3. This is the same as the last link in mountnman's post: It explains how to install plugins. If you need additional help installing the plugin, ask in that thread. ============================== Here's another link: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/InstallPlugins.html .
  4. Okay. That was just to check that the plugin had installed correctly. Previously there has been a problem opening an aircraft repainting file because of the file being large and multi-layered. There was not a large enough contiguous memory block to open the file. If you close all other unneeded programs that are using memory and/or add memory to your computer, it may (or might not) allow the file to open.
  5. The pasted image will be selected. No changes can be made outside of the selection. Deselect by pressing Esc or Ctrl + D before adding the text. .
  6. At the bottom of your starting post: Edit > Use Full Editor > Topic Title
  7. When using the Line / Curve tool switch to Antialiasing Disabled.
  8. Open any file in Paint.NET. Then: File > Save As... In the Save As dialog does Photoshop (*.psd) show in the drop-down menu of Save as type: ?
  9. Yes. The Photoshop PSD file type plugin is needed. Check for it in Post #7 of this thread: .
  10. Yes. That is a known issue. Usually if you OK the save, the file works alright anyway. I made a test GIF that worked right, so the plugin works. (At least on my system.) If you open an animated GIF without first renaming the file extension to .agif, it will open in Paint.NET as a flattened single-layer GIF.
  11. This plugin needs to be installed in the File Types folder.
  12. If you want to, upload the file and post the direct link. http://imageshack.us/ Then we can look at what's going on in the file.
  13. The error being that the file size is a negative number.
  14. Try increasing the Tolerance of the Magic Wand to around 70 per cent. (Or as high as you can make it and still have the selection be contained) Then make a new layer and fill the selection on the new layer. Set the layer Blending mode to Multiply.
  15. Yes, there is a Magic Wand tool. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/MagicWand.html
  16. To make transparent areas with vertical/horizontal edges use: Rectangle Select > Delete
  17. A close examination of the maximized video shows that the Lasso Select is acting exactly the same as the current version does. (Except for the "marching ant" selection border.)
  18. Copy the template layer, paste it into a new file. Ctrl + A Ctrl + C Ctrl + Alt + V Save As... PNG. Import the saved template PNG. Layers > Import From File
  19. If the problem showed up after an update, try running PdnRepair.exe. Typically: "C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\PdnRepair.exe"
  20. Position and size the selection where you want it. Make a new layer and fill the selection with any solid color. Import that layer into the other files as a template, and use the Magic Wand to re-create the selection. Make the template layer not visible, and use the selection on the image layer. .

That result would be expected if the Alpha Mask effect was applied with a clear clipboard. Be sure that you haven't accidentally copied a blank new layer into the clipboard. Renaming the layers by copy/paste could also be a cause of this type of problem.

    A hand-some result, ventor1.
  23. You have used the Ellipse tool. You need to use the Ellipse Select tool. In the Tools window, left side, third down.
