  1. You would have to make a new animated GIF or animated PNG the full dimension of the larger image. It would be easier to explain if you can post links to the actual images that you want to use. Also, indicate where you want the animated GIF positioned within the larger image.
  2. For plugins packed in a zip, the zipfile may be opened as a first step towards installing. The Lightning plugin download is a DLL file. It shouldn't be opened. Allow the file to download, then copy/paste it into the Effects folder.
  3. Ignore those missing steps. Let your PC download the way it will. Once the download is complete, double-click the zip to open it. Copy Feather.dll, then paste it into the Effects folder. Typically: "C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects"
  4. My previous post is confusing for anyone who hasn't used the Grim Color Reaper plugin. "What color?" is a setting in the plugin interface. ============================== Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast. Move both sliders fully to the right. This will turn the text white regardless of how the white background has been removed.
  5. For this one I'd remove the white background with the Grim Color Reaper plugin instead of using the Magic Wand tool. Set What color? to White. It gives a smoother edge to the letters. Then use: Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast. Move both sliders fully to the right. This will turn the text white.
  6. You can try - Layers > Rotate/Zoom or, Octagonal/Quad reshape/matte, or Perspective. Octagonal/Quad reshape/matte http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=13003 Perspective
  7. Duplicate the image layer, turn it black-and-white, use Brightness/Contrast to make a mask that is black except for the facial highlights. Use black Paintbrush to cover shirt, eyes, hair highlight, etc. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/1929/zam01.png Remove the checkmark to make the mask layer not visible. ========================================================== Color pick a mid-tone face color, fill a new layer with that color above the original image. Set the fill layer to Darken blending mode. Apply the Alpha Mask Import plugin effect to the fill layer, using the black-and-white layer as mask. http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/2672/zam02.png ========================================================== Use the Opacity slider to adjust how much the highlights are affected. http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/2401/zam03.png
  8. If you want to, you can upload the multi-layer PDN file and post the download link. http://www.filedropper.com/ That way we can look at the file to see whether there are any identifiable problems.
  9. That link goes to the correct page for downloading Paint.NET. The download link is near the top right of the page. Most likely the evaluation copy of WinRAR came with your new computer as "bloatware". Go ahead and download Paint.NET. If you want to get rid of the WinRAR, you can uninstall it like any other program.
  10. Yes. Did you mean to have the phrase "less than" in the first sentence of the post? If so - No. In terms of the way your topic title is worded, the answer is - No. There may be workarounds that "kind of/sort of" do this. Image quality will suffer. One thing that you could do is resize up by a dimensional factor of 100 or 1000, shift things by 1 pixel, then resize down again.
  11. Check out these two links, then post again if you have any questions. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/29/wippng01.png
  12. You'll need to cut the image into six separate rectangular pieces and print each individually. Or you may be able to use a program like this: http://arje.net/rasterbator
  13. Doing these steps will resolve 99% of Text tool not working situations: In the Layers window, click on the top layer, to make it the active working layer. Next, add a new layer. Press the Esc key on your keyboard. Activate the Text tool, and type. .
  14. http://www.google.com/cse?cx=017811919762320179081%3Achfn-2g_cbg&cof=FORID%3A1&q=%22Smart+blur+plugin%22&sa=Search&siteurl=www.getpaint.net%2Fsearch.html http://www.getpaint.net/search.html
  15. If you are using the method in the tutorial that Heat Stroke linked to, you will get a better result on this particular image by omitting the step of using Feather Object or AA's Assistant. Use a rectangular selection 2 - 4 pixels wide as needed. Position the selection, press Delete, duplicate the layer, then move the lower layer to fill the gap. This is using the variant described under the tutorial's first Hidden Content tag. Expect to do some pixel-by-pixel editing in areas where there is a transition between wood and paint. Using the Color Picker tool on the image layer, then the Pencil tool on new layers works well for this. Adjusting the Layer Opacity slider on the new layers makes it easy to get a good blend.
  16. Remove the files inside the red and orange boxes. They don't belong in the Effects folder. http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/4467/remove01aa.png
  17. Be sure that the Angle setting on Motion blur is set to zero.
  18. The best work-around is to copy the layer, then paste into a new layer where you want it to be located.
  19. For a better result: After removing the white background, Gaussian blur at radius of 2. Then resize the 500x500 image down to 100x100. Repeat Gaussian blur, resize to 32x32. Save as ICO filetype using ICO filetype plugin. It will preserve the transparency rather than turning it black. Paint.NET ICO filetype plugin: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=927
  20. The checkered appearance indicates transparency, it's not part of the actual image. Image--> Crop to Selection is not part of the process for this. Without knowing specifically what steps you're using, it's difficult to guess where you may be going wrong. If you can post some screenshots of the project including the Layers and History windows, it may be possible to give some better advice.
  21. It should work if all three boxes are checkmarked in the Alpha Mask window.
