  1. The workaround given above gives you a lossless method of saving without altering the PDN. An "automatic" flattening process is bound to leave some users without the layer structure... A: I saved my 100 layer image as a PNG and closed PDN. Now I want to edit the layers. B: CoCoNO's auto-save flattened the layers into a composite PNG image for you. A: So you do I get the layers back? B: Did you save the master image as a *.PDN? A: Nope. B: Your layers are toast. Have a nice day.
  2. Are you trying to perform Image Stacking?? [combining multiple images to create a composite which is better than the component images]
  3. Return the Utility windows to their default location with Ctrl + Shift + click on the icons in the toolbar ( and ). Once you've done this they will stay pinned to the corners of the main app window.
  4. I recommend you stop using anything but the Plugin Index to search for plugins. Here's a link to the Plugin Index's results using the keyword "3D" https://forums.getpaint.net/PluginIndex?keywords=3d&author=All+Authors+&type=0&status=7&compat=3&order=title&menu=All+Menus+&release=0 Shape 3D is 6th from the bottm (listed alphabetically).
  5. If your platform allows, lower the opacity of the sword trail so some of the background shows through. I'd go with a gradient of more opaque towards the sword and more transparent towards the thin end of the trail. Similarly, lower the opacity towards the inner edge of the sweep. Below I've used a second trail to enhance the outer edge. Smoother path. Swords get swung in an arc (think of a section of an ellipse)
  6. Specifically these two points.... @lucasdoespaintneteffects - please don't feel discouraged. You created your first plugin and got it working. This is actually a huge achievement. 👍 Please keep creating, testing and learning. By all means drop your plugins into the Developers section of the forum for advice and critique before you consider publishing them. I'll shortly move this thread into the Dev section. There you can continue to develop this plugin and also improve your skills and understand how and why plugins are written.
  7. So this is a random effect? Are you able to predict the result on a given image with any accuracy?
  8. The two shortcuts switch betweed the two tools in the upper right corner of this image. Clarification: Mx2 means press M twice. The same as M M.
  9. Refreshed the download with an up-to-date version (1.3) & also added an icon.
  10. Isolate the square border on an otherwise empty layer, then run TR's Drumskin over the layer.
  11. You want to recreate the green scales? Download and install @BoltBait's plugin pack: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/121343-i In PDN, draw the scales on their own separate layer, using a single mid-shade of green. The layer should be otherwise transparent. Apply Object > Bevel Object to the layer. Configuring the highlight color to be a lighter green, and the shadow colow to be a darker green.
  12. Might be worth pointing out here that decimals are supported, so you don't have to clamp the size to whole numbers. 10 11 11.5 12 13.6 14
  13. Hi @SamJoex - welcome to the forum. Try this: Go to Settings and lower the Transparency Checkerboard Brightness slider all the way down. This will make the checkerboard quite dark and it will be much easier to see the cursor.
  14. There are a number of animation tools available as plugins. Find them here:https://forums.getpaint.net/PluginIndex?keywords=sprite&author=All+Authors+&type=0&status=0&compat=0&order=title&menu=All+Menus+&release=0
  15. You might have a MS Store installation. In that case you will need to manually create the folders. See the instructions here: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/InstallPlugins.html#4
  16. I took a really small sample of the image (only 70x10). I was only trying to capture some of the reds, the background and the white bars
  17. August Update is cancelled due to a lack of plugins. Check back next month
  18. I wasn't too fussy (only 70 colors remained after I removed duplicates):
  19. PDN palette files are quite simple text files. The format is explained here: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/WorkingWithPalettes.html#4 You'll need to convert your XML into 8-digit hexadecimal numbers in AARRGGBB format - one per line and limit the number of colors to 96 as @toe_head2001 mentioned. One tool which might help is my CSV filetype plugin. TIP: resultant file can be really large - so run it over a small region of the image, rather than the whole thing.
  20. There *used* to be a problem with the UI always opening on a second monitor if present. I thought we'd fixed it - but it looks like this may be the issue. Do you have (or recently had) a second monitor attached?
