  1. Grinning happily. Sorry, I've been busy watching the cactus spines turn to fall colors...๐Ÿค” Been having a bit of a hard time (Dr. prescribed the wrong medicine: Gasp!) but am back on my roll. Just completed a planner series, off to create stickers and backgrounds, let's call 'em "skins", plus provide a digi format so I can drip new stuff into my new Etsy store daily while I work on the next set of planners in the series. Then I have to create the banner, the About, descriptives for the products, and so forth. After that, I'll hold my breath for a tick and LAUNCH! Somewhere in there, I'll start my gallery. ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰ Oh, shoot. I just realized you were talking to @Maximilian? Hope I got the right poster Lemme tell you, girl - were it not for this community, I would have been dead in the water as far as this project goes. Overwhelm would have been a deal breaker for sure, and I was in the middle of it with burnout staring me in the face before I even got started. I retired from my last online biz several years ago due to burnout and never wanna go there again. Oh, and I saved more of your tuts to my Classes folder! Am SO looking forward to learning how to create the opalescent stained glass 'cause I can't wait to use it for my customers' delight. Hugs, and thanks endlessly for your kind words. TTYL๐Ÿ˜
  2. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Oh my gosh, lynxster. I came across your tut on my way to something else and wow. I bookmarked your tutorial in my classes folder. Thank you for the tremendous effort you put into presenting this system in such minute detail - many people on many a platform assume viewers are already familiar with Part I, Part II, etc., and start in the middle. I have been looking for a few of the effects you used - too cool! BTW, I'm from the other side of the state: Doylestown in Bucks County. Been living in Southern Cali since '73. My, my, my we come from a beautiful part of America, yeah?
  3. Over a month later - Sorreeeee, my mind went off to a different planet or something. Bless you for the how-to. ๐Ÿค— It's precisely what I was looking for and I did not know that BoltBait put out an update in July. Cool beans! Thank you.
  4. Cool beans! Thank you, Tactilis, for taking the time and effort to clarify. Worked like a charm. Whoa! I didn't know that there's a BoltBait.com. Bookmarked it in my Classes folder. This community is a dream come true for me.
  5. Excellent, Tactilis. Yes, they are sold in PDF dl's. Forgot about that. Thank you for the referral to the DPI tutorial. I looked through it yesterday, which is why I posted my question. Great tut David wrote, and I learned a thing or two which, in thinking about it today, tells me I should go to town on my graphics in here (where I have zero DPI problems), but do the assembly in Canva, which is geared for text-heavy printables. End result: Annie's a happy camper. I've finished today's creatives, so I'm off to play with effects. SO much fun. ๐Ÿค— PS Can you pass the word that the plugin install tutorial walks you through the old way to install using the copy/paste method? It calls for accessing Properties via the Paint.net icon, which no longer provides properties on right click. Now we get a list of recent activity, which is cool, but doesn't help the newbies, like me.
  6. Hi everybody! Finished canvas size = 8.5 x 11.0 and includes both illustrations and text. Illustrations are @ 300DPI // Some dl as big as a barn, but by the time I'm finished altering them working @ 300 DPI for the final product, they are around 2-3 inches. Copy/paste onto layer on text canvas. Now - do I need to make the finished form 300 DPI for my customers to print, or am I good to go, or do I need to make the form as big as a barn so that when I change it to 300 DPI it ends up somewhere around 8.5x11? I think I'm making this more complicated than it need be, but I'm lost and yes, I've been through all the tuts in the library.
  7. This man is a wonderful teacher.ย  BRAVO DAVID for your DPI Tutorial, and many, many thanks.

  8. Yaha! As I was making a short video to show you the problem, even when using 'paste into new image', I found the solution. It's all in the DPI. Since I haven't figured out how to use Clip Champ yet, I'll just tell you. See screen clips below. I imported an 8.49 x 10.55 template; there are 50 in the current project. That gives me 181.9 DPI, which for simple B&W text form is fine I need the text on all the forms to fit into a specific area so I can offer different "skins", so I created a TEXT AREA BOX layer. When I copy-paste that layer into the single form workspace layer, no matter how I do it, the request is for a change to a larger canvas size. When I copy-paste that layer into its own canvas, no matter how I do it, the new canvas is 16 x 20. But, as soon as I change the DPI, my canvas is changed to 8.49 x 10.55. Now I can copy that outline into a single form layer for each of the 50 templates. Was that helpful, Pixey?
  9. Opened and apparently didn't save great tut written for those of us who are having problems with canvas sizes, specifically the 16.09 x 20.something default. Do any of you know which one I'm talking about? Found DPI tut to see how Paint.NET handles DPI vs canvas size, haven't opened it yet. Went searching for canvas sizing tutorials in here but couldn't find anything, and don't want to go hunting on the 'net kissing frogs. I read what's been posted in the forum ref default canvas sizing; will create pre-sized templates, but need to know why my 300 DPI 8.5 x 11 reverts to a different size when I copy-paste to a new canvas. So there you go, what do you recommend I study? SO glad y'all have my back while I'm clawing my way out of newbiehood.
  10. Time is in the mind of the beholder.ย  A mayfly has 24 hours to learn its way around, fall in love, make babies, and write a will.ย  So.ย  How long is an hour to a mayfly?

  11. Whoa! Bless you for doing that, Pixey. ๐Ÿฅฐ Your 2017 little squirell is cuteness to die for. The 2016 cracked egg over on Deviant is awesome, too. Do you have a store on Creative Market?
  12. Awesome replies! Thank you Pixie and Tactilis. No way can I choose a best answer between the two of you. Tactilis - I did not know that's what the plug in browser does. Very cool. Got it and thank you. Pixie, you super hero you, Thank you for letting me know about @yellowman. At my age, one tends to fear the worst. MKT's plug in will be dl'd immediately. (Happy dance) So that's what the jigsaw icon means! I'll go back through the tutorial to nail what I would like to dl. However, going through a comparison with the screenshots I provided and the tools I already have, it may be far less than I originally thought. I did diligently search the plug in search bot, but regardless of the combinations I used, I could not get it to show me anything "3D". I only found out about MKT on the 'net doing paint.net tut searches. Just so you know. Heading off to tend to my creatives, then study some marketing this afternoon. Doing my best to make the marketing part as much fun as the creatives. Please don't ask how that's working for me.๐Ÿ˜™๐ŸŽถ
  13. HELLo, hello hello, and thank you for listening from the other side of my brick walls. So much to learn and I'm loving every second of it. I recently posted in Discussions looking for tools I can use to create certain 3D effects and Pixie referred me to the Bevel tool. Close, made me try allsorts of effects, but no cigar. After messing around for days with the plugins I have and watching skeenteen tutorials, I finally landed on one by PDNing that has exactly what I was looking for. His/her videos are wonderful - I learned a ton of stuff in just two of the vids. I was sad to see the tuts stopped 9 years ago and hope that's jiust due to burn out. I would love to go through the steps outlined but except for Helen's glass ball, which she created with hardly any tools at all๐Ÿ˜ฎ I don't know which packs to search for nor which tools are still compatible. For instance, does MKT's 3D Shapes still work? I did note that some of the options in Distort (see attached screen shot x2) have been moved to other slots, but there's way more stuff all over the place. At this point I don't need all those bells and whistles on a daily basis; however (help!), I do need the tools PNDing used to create the pumpkin: youtube.com/watch?v=p2rb3scu7xo. Here is a pic of what I currently have, including the ones I apparently didn't load properly (later 'gator on that):
  14. Several days later... Hey Pixie! Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction, if not the right tool. I tried all sorts of machinations using the bevel and other tool combos, but could not get the look I wanted until, UNTIL, I found a tutorial by PNDing that opened up a whole new Paint.NET world for me. His/her last tut was 9 nine years ago, but man oh man, it doesn't matter. Here's what I found, then subscribed to his channel to get the rest of his videos. Were it not for you, I'd probably still be floundering around.
  15. Thank you, Pixey! Hm. I was in the right spot, just not using the bevel correctly. I gave up and used the inside shadow, very light eraser, very light brush, you name it. First thing tomorrow I'll start practicing with the bevel tool. You just made my month.
