  1. I've always wondered about that rule. Good on you chimay12321 for taking control and showing these entrants who's da boss!
  2. That's because you haven't put a palette file in the folder yet. Steps 1-4 tell you how to open the correct folder - you need to copy one of the palette files into that folder for it to show up in paint.net. If you want to download a zipped palette from the palette thread, do so then unzip it and copy the *.txt file to the palettes folder.
  3. I don't think I said "countless" Numerous - certainly
  4. Woah! Sharp is in da house. Nice to see you back!
  5. Great fun! It works a treat Red Ochre I zombiefied President Obama then Scribbled him.
  6. You need to install 3.5.11 then make a copy of the installation folder before reinstalling 4.0. Here's how: 1. Install 3.5.11 2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Paint.NET 3. Copy the folder using Ctrl+C (or right click + Copy) and paste using Ctrl+V (or right click + Paste). The pasted version of the folder will have "copy" appended to the name (or similar). 4. Right click on the copy and rename it to "Paint.NET 3.5.11". 5. Install 4.0 which will overwrite the original installation folder, leaving Paint.NET 3.5.11 in situ.
  7. Zipped dll added to the first post. Remember that this is found under the Adjustments menu
  8. I think the Author is referring to the Feather Selection plugin. It's not found in Effects > Blurs, it's found under Effects > Selection.
  9. ^^ That's the one. The other dll's can be returned to the /Effects folder and you should be good-to-go.
  10. Check that you DO NOT have any internal paint.net dll files in the /Effects folder. They should be in the next higher directory level i.e. /Paint.net/ and not /Paint.net/Effects. To id these dll files, look for the text "paintdotnet.*" in the filename.
  11. I'm betting a scratch surface would actually be cheaper in memory terms (no blend mode, visibility flag, layer thumbnail, history, etc...)
  12. Anti-alias: Why don't you try both and tell us which works best? Clone Stamp: The anchor defines the area to "copy from". If you "copy to" exactly the same area as you're "copying from" nothing will change. A slight variation between the two will overwrite the destination with the source. You can find all the plugins listed in the Plugin Index
  13. The author of this plugin hasn't been on the forum for three years. I'll look into supplying a replacement attachment later today.
  14. When Rick has finished the current development cycle. As more users interact with the software, more work is generated by way of bugs & feedback. It's therefore hard to establish an exact release date. Don't worry - it's getting closer, as this Alpha release indicates.
  15. Hi Pat75ric! Welcome to the forum I wrote the book to help new users - so I hope it helps explain things for you. Don't worry that you're being a nuisance - you're not. The forum is all about helping people learn this great image editing software. Feel free to ask if searching fails to provide an answer (hint: try this Search Tool )
  16. Thanks for posting this. Other users need to be warned. You can see now why we take such a dim view of that website and plugin pack.
  17. I can't believe no one got banned Congratulations Helen and the other winners. A thoughtful and interesting set of entries. Well done everyone! Thanks again Drew.
  18. Yup, me too. Adding Shift makes it scroll horizontally Less of a 'drag' and wheelie fun
  19. +1 @Deleted: I recommend you remove all the files you installed from that website and download the plugins again from this forum.
  20. If you just want to know a specific pixel location, use the mouse to point to the pixel then read the X & Y coordinates in the Status Bar at the bottom of the Editing Window. Or are you trying to create an HTML image map?
  21. We will need more information. Paste a screenshot of the error message here. If there is a crash log on your desktop - that would be useful too.
  22. Sad to hear that Drew Thank you for your support for this competition and the forum users. If anyone wishes to step up - please do so now.
  23. TechnoRobbo created the plugin and has released it for everyone to freely download. The videos are his method of explaining how the plugin(s) work or should be used. You should ask in the plugin thread for a different tutorial.
