"Rendering" a background/wallpaper?
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Rhaonoa's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Your screen is probably stretching the image to fill the available space. You need to either work with a larger canvas (i.e. the same size as your screen) or set the wallpaper parameter so that it doesn't stretch the image (used to be called Center Image or something similar). -
Recolor tool not strict to primary color

You can set the default tool parameters via the settings dialog. Look for the icon in the top right corner. -

paint.net 4.0.3 is now available
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Rick Brewster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
After resizing the Layers window, grab it by it's title bar and drag it until it "snaps" into the corner of the editing window. It should persist in this position + size. -
Problem with toolbox size
Ego Eram Reputo replied to twoolds's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
The toolbox window is two icons wide. You can't resize it It should dock to the edges of the editing window like the other child windows. -
Improving a Scanned Shaded Sketch in Paint
Ego Eram Reputo replied to mavinster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Hi Mavinster - welcome to the forum! Let's try to help you with that image. Something fairly simple to start with to thicken/darken the lines... 1. Open the image 2. In the Layers window click on the Duplicate layer icon :DuplicateLayer: 3. Double Click the top layer in the Layers Window to open it's Properties dialog. 4. Set the Blend Mode to Multiply. This can be repeated a number of times if you like the effect. When finished, you can flatten the image with Ctrl + Shift + F. Which plugin pack did you download and which anti-virus package do you have installed? I'm guessing Norton. It's famous for reporting false-positives -

I'm seeing the images. Thanks Ella!

I don't speak or read Russian, so I can't use your work. I do appreciate the effort you have put in to this. Thank you.

Op = original post or original poster. I think Dexus would like the images restored in the first post.

Can I suggest you rename the DLL to differentiate it from the original? CodeLab_RU.dll would do.

I don't know for sure, but this plugin might allow you to create a profile to your Imgur account: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/13242-upload-to-v26/

Effect installation problem
Ego Eram Reputo replied to StarryKat's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Can you be more specific, i.e. which effects are failing to work? Have you tried updating your effects? Some older plugins are incompatible with paint.net 4. Please post a screenshot of your /Effects/ folder so we can have a look at the contents of the folder. -
Need specifics about app in get paint
Ego Eram Reputo replied to lottalover's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Ah. I didn't realize you had colors. I assumed you were working with a line drawing. In this case you can try the Conditional Hue & Saturation plugin. This allows you to modify a color range (which you specify via the controls). mini-tutorial: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/21134-how-can-i-create-a-shape-and-recolor-it/?p=348884 -

Need specifics about app in get paint
Ego Eram Reputo replied to lottalover's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Hi Mark. Without seeing the image I'm guessing that you need to try desaturating it. Open the image with paint.net then go to Adjustments > Brightness & Contrast. Use the sliders to reduce the intensity of the lines. -
Saving your work in another format
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Stephanie's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Make your image canvas larger - much larger. Three or four times larger. Use Image > Canvas Size to set the size (in pixels). If you already have an image, it will need to be scaled up to fill the larger canvas. Duplicating the layer won't make a difference. You need more pixels, so you need to make the canvas much larger. -

I've removed the broken link and attached the zipped DLL to the thread linked above. Now we can all enjoy Evan's Effects once again -
Help! C# Plugin Error!
Ego Eram Reputo replied to Lightning Strike's topic in Plugin Developer's Central
The VS template probably referenced the older DLLs (from paint.net 3.5.11). You'll need to point the references to the new DLL's for paint.net 4.x. Find these in the Solutions Explorer pane under References. If you see small yellow warning triangles against the four PaintDotNet.* entries, you'll need to update the path to these references. Right click on 'References' and select 'add Reference...' In the window that appears, select the 'Browse' tab and navigate to (Computer) C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/ double-click on PaintDotNet.Base.dll Repeat the process for the other three DLL's: PaintDotNet.Core.dll, PaintDotNet.Data.dll, PaintDotNet.Effect.dll
