I sure wish postimage would restore the old names. If not, I hope there's some automated way all the links on the PDN site can be updated. Not only is editing all one's own links a huge hassle, but in quite a few cases it's not possible. The comp section's Archived threads are locked, and the posts can't be edited, and the Galleria images are not under the control of the original creator.
Fortunately only one image was affected in the Galleria and was easily fixed. It would be a mammoth job to go back and edit the comp sections though. I wonder if it is worth it? They could be unlocked if folks really want to go back and add the .cc to their image address's.

@MadJik I am getting really confused about what is going on here. When I log-in the old way to: postimages.org I get into the site okay. But, when I click on an album it shows up as postimg.cc/files. You mention Postimg.org ............ which I've never used before and is different to postimages.org. The question remains that something really weird has happened.
Does anyone know if one pays to join Photo bucket (God forbid) do they allow people to link back to them now?
EDIT: I've just noticed that whilst I'm logged-in on the forum, in Firefox, all my postimages.org images are
When not logged-in on Chrome, the links are broken -

Hello @Bloodshot_pico and Welcome to the forum
An easy way would be to get some brushes from the web, like from Brusheezy if you can't draw the marks with the brush tool yourself.
1. Draw your scratches by hand, or by using custom brushes.
2. Keep the white background unchecked - for keeping transparency.
3. Use the Magic wand on Global to 'select' the black marks and invert (Ctrl + I)
4. Use white for an inner shadow - the plugin for that is found here.
5. Deselect and apply Gaussian Blur.
6. Save this in .png form. Close PDN.
7. Reopen Paint.net and import any image.
8. Import the claw marks, which will appear on a new layer.
9. Play with the layer blend modes, or color balance, to get something you like.
I hope this will work for you. Drawing the claw marks would be a lot simpler than learning to use Brushes, if you have not done so before

I'm sorry @Liam there is no magic app that can do what you are asking. If you do not know how to use Paint.net, then I don't think we can help you. But, if you can show us the image (upload it to Imgur or another hosting site and then post the link in this thread) then we can suggest how to change it in Paint.net.

Hello @Liam and Welcome
Can you paste the image here for us to see if it can be restored some way. If the image is large, you can save it to a place like Imgur or Postimage.org and then add the link to this thread.

If you hit on Choose - can't you find Paint.net on your computer? Perhaps via: OS(C) - Program Files - Paint.net
-
Sorry - I opened it and I get the exact same error message you do. No data there. I was really hoping, but it's not to be .
When I first started out learning PDN @barbieq25 drummed it into me, to save often and make it a regular thing. Now, once I'm making something I save it to PDN in different stages, so if I mess up I can find the one before. I know this is not much consolation

@PATOOFA I'm so sorry you lost the file. Been there done that !
If you could save the PDN File to Drop Box and post the link here, I can take a look at what is inside, if anything, to put your mind to rest

PostImage.org - UPDATE - 4/9/20
in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions

@MJW I too am not real savvy about this kind of problem either. At the least, they may be able to rectify the problem, as their initial message seemed to reflect that they were working on it and that the .cc was a patch for now. Hopefully this is so . Perhaps they didn't pay their bill this year
Someone on the IsItDown site suggested this:
You have to do it for all of your separate files, though.... but not your separate images.
If you're posting to other people sites, then I guess you have to give them the updated image links.... and that would be a pain if it's a ton of separate sites.
