Recent canvas resizing issue & feature idea

If you don't want it to fill the new area with the secondary color, just delete the "Background" layer. -

Until Rick implements this in Paint.NET, you can install my plugin pack and use the Effects > Flip in there. This is impossible. What if the top layer is the lighten blend mode and the bottom layer is the darken blend mode. There is no way to combine them and have the resulting layer behave like the two separate layers. What we we currently have is the best compromise. Now, for your specific example, you can easily get it to work the way you want by doing this: Insert a blank layer just below your bottom layer. Merge your bottom layer onto that blank layer. Then merge your top layer onto your bottom layer. Just delete the original Background layer and it does work this way. -

Try pressing [ and ] -
Try turning off hardware acceleration and see if that fixes the problem. If that fixes it, then you probably just need to update your video drivers. Also, please read this.

I just tried the download link and it worked just fine. Try again?

That file is not actually a JPG file. It is a WEBP file. You'll need this plugin to open it: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/21773-webp-filetype-2019-05-01/

This has been requested before: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/110393-adjusting-the-brush-width-while-painting/ It used to be possible in Paint.NET v3.5.11 and there is a bug filed against 4.x to have it implemented again.

Missing fonts after the 4.1.5 update.
BoltBait replied to kall99's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Paint.net doesn't ship with any fonts... it simply uses the fonts you have install on your system. The font system hasn't had a major overhaul since v3.5. So, I'm not sure what you're seeing. -
Swapping Colors in Camouflage
BoltBait replied to Hanks_Hill's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Well, here's what I did: Use magic wand to select all brown areas. Press Ctrl+I to invert selection. (Now, all gray areas are selected.) Use Adjustments > Invert Colors (Now, all dark areas are light and light areas are dark.) Use Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast and adjust brightness all the way down (Now, we're getting close to the shading before.) Use Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast and adjust brightness to taste. (Match the middle gray as best as you can.) So, you see... all the dark areas are light and all the light areas are dark. -

Another way to achieve that is to work at 3x your final size and scale it down at the end. -
