  2. Basically, this will tile an image from a file into the selction on a layer (or to the whole layer, if there is no selection). It just repeats the picture (usually a small one like a couple of bricks) into your selection (like a wall you have selected). If the texture is a nice repeating one, this would give the illusion that a brick wall existed where a stucco wall was before.

  4. All layers must be the same size. Perhaps you would like to resize the image on a layer? If so, select your layer and press Ctrl-A to select all. Then, using the "Move selected pixels tool", hold the shift key as you click-and-drag one of the corner nubs of the selection.
  5. I found it: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... ght=#17224
  6. First, install this plugin: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... ght=#17224 You may be able to use it to create the beads.
  7. Hmmm... Well, you could try the Clone/Stamp tool. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/CloneStamp.html It's not really optimal, but it might work.
  8. As for non-standard shapes (i.e. Moon, Sun, etc.) you might want to use a font file and enter them as text and manipulate them from there. By the way, I used to know a woman named "OMA". I took her picture: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/39610938
  9. I'm not sure. I'm running 3.0 Beta and it works fine. But, I think Majik runs 2.72.
  10. I wrote a script that does draw basic shapes: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2580 User Majik was nice enough to compile it into a DLL. You can download it from this link: http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/Polygones.zip Just open the zip file and put the DLL into your Paint.NET/Effects folder. Then next time you run Paint.NET you should see a polygon tool in your Effects menu. Instructions on how to use it to draw basic shapes can be found here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... c&start=24
  11. Yes, this is similar to the Seemless Helper plugin that I created... only his is better.
  12. Then, please don't post that kind of thing in this thread. This is about Paint.NET and using it to create animated GIF files. If you want to post some interesting thing you saw on the web, do it in the overflow forum. Please stay on topic. And, please minimize the worthless posts. Thanks.
  13. Are you saying that you wouldn't use such a donation to buy that BMW you've always wanted...
  14. I like the idea. Put them up on utube and post the links in the tutorial section.
  15. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/MagicWand.html It may be useful to suggest in the bicycle section that the user select the sky and press Ctrl-I to invert the selection. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/LineCurve.html The link to the Bezier Curve definition doesn't work. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/MainWindow.html You state "The Paint.NET user interface is broken up in to 11 major areas:" and then you list only 10 areas. I'm done.
  16. By posting this animation, are you implying that you created it? Or, that it was created using Paint.NET?
  17. It would be helpful if the web based version of the help file had tags for easy linking. For example, in another post I made today, I wanted to link directly to the Save As... section.
  18. Well, you'll need pics of two guys... Then, you'll need to learn how to use layers. Finally, you'll need to find some cool looking text to put on its own layer. Adjust or Effect to your own tastes. Save as JPG. Publish. etc.
  19. To me it looks like a close up photo of a boxing belt (that the winner wears). Adjusted to Sepia with a small blur added.
  20. If you make changes to the source surface, you can not "undo" the changes--that is, you break the undo function.
  21. Nope. Not available in Paint.NET. Perhaps someone could write a filetype plugin to support this?
  22. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/GradientTool.html At the bottom of this page, you could use a couple of screen shots explaining how to do an alpha fade from one picture to another. You could get the info here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2756 I also think it might be nice to add some of the explanations from this thread: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2533 Oh, and it might be nice to show the conical gradient shown in a circle selection (instead of square). http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/ColorsWindow.html This page should mention left and right click on the color wells to select colors. You may also want to explain the format of the palette files. You can get some text about them here: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=2600 http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/EffectsMenu.html Some mention should be made that Paint.NET supports plugins in case the user wants to add additional effects. A link should be added to http://getpaint.net/redirect/plugins.html It might also be good to add a sentence or two on each effect to explain the usefulness of it or what it is trying to simulate. I personally, can't wait to hear what the difference between Gaussian Blur and Unfocus is. Oh, and if you are going to mention plugins, you might want to give some general instructions on how to install them. (I know this is not your job, but it might be very useful for your target audiance.) http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/FileMenu.html Some mention should be made about file type plugins, where to get them and how to install them. I know this is in another part of the help file, but people think differenly and may not find the info on the other pages. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/3.0/en/WebLinks.html The web link to the forum should be using a redirect instead of a direct link to forumer. You may want to move the forum... More later, if I find some time... Respectfully submitted, Your Faithful Servant... BoltBait
